Mimic Stones

I have 12 minic stones and more than enough materials for what I want to craft but the game wont allow me to, whats going on?

Mimic Stone replaces style materials when trying to craft an equipment that requires one. Like you got a motif page for a chest from a DLC dungeon you never went and want to craft it but you don't have any of the style material from said dungeon, then you use a Mimic Stone. What are you trying to craft exactly?

I was just trying to craft some imperial armor cause it looked cool, I have the steel and the other material and the mimic stones, but not the motif

You need the motif. The stone just makes it so you don't need the material for the imperial style

Might be a skill issue

Imperial Style book is going down as price, less than 100K on NA and you will get all at once. Other option is to create an Imperial character (you need the DLC anyway) and level it up.

The skill level may be an issue as few motifs require a minimum level on at least one skill line (Blacksmithing, Clothing, Woodworking), so if cannot learn the motif cannot craft it either but I'm not sure if Imperial motifs have a requirement.

Just checked, they require rank 1.
