Help! - Game won't launch after install
Hey everyone, I have an issue that someone might help with.

THE PROBLEM: I installed the game, and when I try to launch it, it starts an Install prompt which loads up to 100% and then just closes without any error or notice and wont even open the ESO launcher...

WHAT I DID: I reinstalled the game a few times, launched as Admin, disabled antivirus and firewall, I DID NOT VERIFY GAME CACHE from steam I know it messes up...

Zenimax support were useless, and of course don't get me started on steam support...
I worked around the problem by downloading the game from the Official Site and it works fine - but I still want it to work on STEAM.

Thank you... I purchased this Game recently.

Faced the same Issue.

Summary:

Even the Bethesda original launcher doesn't Install for Windows 10.

Download and Try to Install the Bethesda Launcher. If it fails try this:

Its actually locally stored at (Similar will vary with time):
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Temp\I1449987112\

After that go to:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Temp\I1449987112\InstallerData\Disk1\InstData

There you will find a Resource1.zip

Extract it there only. And then go to:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Temp\I1449987112\InstallerData\Disk1\InstData\Resource1\$IA_PROJECT_DIR$\src_path

Here you will Find a folder called "Launcher"

Copy the Launcher folder into your Zenimax Online Folder and run the Game from Steam.

This will work.

Drawback: I had to download the 30Gigs All Over again. So i ll probably copy the Downloaded folder afterwards.

Thanks for the suggestion on copying the Launcher Folder.

EDIT 1:
When I first ran the game from Steam after this fix it created a folder "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" and started downloading the 30Gigs :/

So I closed the game and I copied the "depot" folder located at:
G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\depot
(This was steam's directory)
to
G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\depot
(This was Launcher's directory)

Now its just downloading about 3-4gbs. :D

Just wanted to say thank you.
I will second that thanks. It is insane that this is necessary, but it seems to be working.
Guys i get the solution!, i bought the game yesterday and when i launch it on steam the game doesnt work, thats why when you install the game on steam, it forgive a folder named "launcher", so i try to get a solution, and i get it (now i am playing from steam)
First must do what this video explain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dUxjyb2BTk
2nd when you install the game in the way of the video, go to the folder of this and move the folder name "launcher" to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online and launch the game from steam, it work for me!
This worked perfectly.
Thank you.

Thank you. I may have downloaded the game three times over before finding this :(
Not sure if someone mentioned this already, but I just had to add an exception on my AVG to allow this game to start. Before the adjustment to AVG the game just did not load after 100%
The best way is by jumping the steam launcher! It worked for me!

Step 1: Remove "zosSteamStarter" from the game folder
Step 2: Rename "Bethesda.net_Launcher" to "zosSteamStarter"
This thread helped me resolve this issue, just wanted to say thanks a bunch!
