I am not sure, but I was checking on Reddit and a lot of people used that "fix" to play on EU without downloading everything again.
I don't think there is any difference between them, since both are the same game and both english (I think if you pick other language it will download a language pack).
Or this.
But for me, Steam downloaded the game way faster than the Bethesda Launcher.
And well, I like Steam tracking my hours played.
There is two shortcuts IIRC, one is "The Elder Scrolls Online" and the other is "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" (I guess), I don't remember which one is to install the game after downloading it from Steam, but I THINK it's the "The Elder Scrolls Online", not the Tamriel Unlimited one.
I only see the one The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. the other one is not there.
If not, go to your Steam Library, right click on TESO and click to create a Shortcut on your desktop, then try to open it.
And make sure the game will be installed on Steamapps folder.
When I downloaded TESO through steam, I start the installation with the
shortcut on the desktop. (Only one shortcut at this moment)
Then steam shows me the cd-key... so I can choose between copy the cd-key
or play...
I chose play and the game start to install... It feels like it going through the steam client.. should it?
Then the game installs at Steam/steamapps/common/Zenimax Online/ The Elderscrolls Online EU.
But if I do as you sad aKu and delete that folder after installation, then i delete everything i installed, I can change the name on the other folder that steam made but it only holds a map named contents..
I´m a little bit confused....
Unless they changed it, Steam only downloads the NA Client of the game and not the EU Client, that is why I said to delete the EU Folder that the Launcher creates AFTER the game is already installed and rename the NA folder ("The Elder Scrolls Online" to "The Elder Scrolls Online EU"), since on your SteamApps follder will have two folders "The Elder Scrolls Online" with something like 35GB of files and another "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" with some files that probably the launcher downloaded after the install.
