ESO account permanently banned.
My account got permanently banned because of offensive speech.
It were ISIS jokes.
Personally great game, but I think a permanent ban is an over reaction because this is my first time I actually got reported for any matter.
Now since zenimax would not respond properly to my question I came here.
Is there still a chance my account will be unbanned or can I get a refund from zenimax because let's be honest the game is not cheap.

Edit: Okay for less than a day I was unbanned by french eso support.
They said they wanted to give me a second chance but then I got banned again thou I dindu nuffin this time. Meredith said "The decision has been made by the highest authority possible to permanently deactivate the account."

And for those that wonder the jokes were cheap
"ISIS is love ISIS is life" "join ISIS get a free cookie"
And more of this shenanigans

Frankly, I agree with you on this one. What people feel about your words should not be grounds for banning. What the text box needs is a mute feature, just so people have the option to not offend themselves.

Although, given how many people forget the mute button in TF2, I'm not so sure it would change that :witch:

Edit: In any case, you've my sympathies

I would have been okay with a few days of ban.
But still permanent ban is like a kick in the groin and a plunder to my wallet.

Although, in ESO's defense, it was stated in the agreement that offensive speech would not be tolerable. Did they specify what kind of punishment was grounds for the aforementioned, and did it include perma-ban?

I can't find anything what the punishment is about offensive speech in the support of their site.
Most likely they banned me because of the events in paris not so long ago.
plus this is what they sended me

Greetings,

Your Appeal for an account ban reversal is denied.

Due to the extent and scale of the violation, it has been decided that the ban on this account will remain in place, and that all services related to this account shall remain deactivated permanently.

This decision is final, and we consider this matter closed.

Regards,
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Team

While you claim the statements made were just jokes, we take all comments regarding terrorism with the utmost sincerity. As such, the account will remain permanently deactivated, and we will consider no further appeals. This matter is closed.

Regards,

Considering that you were making jokes about joining a group of fanatical, mass-murdering fools who have just recently caused a lot of deaths, I'd say that's kind of justifiable for a ban. Death is not something to joke about with people you do not personally know, especially in a crowded social zone where a panic could easily start. All I can say is that you did something utterly foolish and are recieving due consequences for such foolishness. My suggestion: use common sense in the future.

I'll concede the point that empathy is a virtue, or at least a mockery of empathy.

What still strikes me is how our society treats language, and making jokes, even ones that are "too soon", can be deemed with intent not intended by the speaker. It may be just me, but personally, one should not get up in arms about bad humor.

Tl;Dr People need to stop whining over mean words, just as much as people need common sense when dealing with heavy topics

I thinks american is too over sensitive because of such a thing, sure they are evil, but many time I saw their reaction about this matter is almost become like defiance of god ,an unforgiveable sins ?

You know I have reported bots for 2 time in 2 days but they are still live on and farming.

What's the standard of penality ? sure they are not evil that much compare to the isis's action, but guilt is guilt.

I am still wondering how long before they take an action.
Nephritho Nov 21, 2015 @ 1:49pm
Well they took actions in 30 minutes after the jokes. beside there were people saying that they didn't gave a flying cluck about the terrorist acts in paris.
I wonder how they are doing.

Don't joke about terrorism. I would have reported you as well
Nephritho Nov 22, 2015 @ 4:40am
Reporting is one thing. Permanent banning is another.
