Edit: Oh Wait... Items Slots; are you speaking of the set number of items that can go inside of a house? I've 'sort of' read bits and pieces here and there that led me to believe there are caps regarding items in homes, but didn't really understand what it meant.
As a secondary response, every alt you make you will get the same furnishing options with that level up reward, so there is a possibility to get all of them through leveling. Of course all of them are relatively cheap in guild stores if you’d rather obtain them that way.
When I first started I chose the bed haha.. I only had one of the inn rooms so I figured RP wise it’s better to have a nice place to rest my head.
for crafting resources (bugs, flowers, geodes etc.) it is something like: simple said on 10 you get 1 with bonus (not simply said there is RNG which works in its mysterious ways...).
same choice i thought i can get some bonus for sleeping haha....
If you don't have the space or the time to harvest them you can always buy them at guild store.
There's also a skill when above lvl 50 that increase the speed of harvesting but I can't recall the name.
Of course that is for the optimal playthrough, if you enjoy crafting your potions keep doing that you must have fun first. Just know that the drop rate will likely never change.
You may want to check these two websites.
A sort of a fan made Wikipedia for ESO:

Noice! Good Looking Out Mate!!
Awesome. Now the OP actually knows what to look at.
The OP is at level 18. The game can feel overwhelming in the beginning. If the OP spends some time reading through UESP and Alcast HQ, I am sure everything will be fine.
Buying ingredients can be expensive. I know I make the vast majority of my money selling alchemy ingredients and nirnhoned weapons/armour for research. Basically if you're going to use poison or potions in bulk it's better to farm and learn how to make them yourself.
After you've learned what does what, with what, you don't need that many of anything to keep youself self-sufficient.
Edited to say don't forget to eat one of everything. You get the first property of all reagents by sticking them down your gullet :)
"im so grumpy and i don't like people asking for help because it makes me feel bad"
2. I use that passive; I was at 4 poisons, now I'm at 8; this is helpful, but when you dual-wield you go through poisons rather quickly, so the more I can make, the better.
3. If you see my name on a post... just don't click on it; I'm less annoying that way.
@WatchDog and Dex.... Thanx :)
@Turtle: I'm actually maintaining a chart, and "Yes, you are correct.", thus far I have 20 ways of making the Poison I like using 8 different Reagents. I was hoping, however, for better possibilities with TorchBugs and Butterflies 'Only' because they are everywhere. All the other ingredients are just random finds when and if I stumble over a plant to pluck :). But I did just upgrade to 8 poisons, so that's going to be massively helpful!!! (Woot)
However, my second poison (which I use on a Staff when I turn Necro-Healer) only works with with Butterfly Wing and TorchBug Thorax (Vitality-Draining Poison II); at least so far I haven't found another mix yet.
I don't necessarily Farm... persay.... but sometimes I do run around just looking for plants to pluck (after a Quest, and if I have room in my inventory), but still... it's just running around hoping to get lucky and find the ones I actually need.
But all said and done... I do appreciate the 'Helpful' input and tips. Thanx All!!!
