The Elder Scrolls Online
What to do if you can't gift DLC
I purchased premium currency so I could gift a DLC to my friend.

I have done this before so I expected it to work. However, after purchasing the premium currency, I was told that ESO had changed my account without my knowledge or consent so I can't send gifts.

I contacted support about this but they simply replied with:

"As it stands, this request will not be granted...

"For now, we will consider this request resolved and close the ticket..."

They literally didn't even list a reason. They just stole my money. I guess I COULD use it to buy lootboxes though...

HOWEVER, on my second appeal, Support finally re-enabled gifting.

Pro-tip, I started with "Please". Never forget that the people who work for a company are human being with feelings. Being polite will make things run a lot better.

If you don't want to spend the ESO Crowns in your own ESO account, then raise another support ticket to request a refund of your Crowns purchase. Similar support tickets have been approved in the past.

They disabled everyones account from being able to gift about a year ago so they could milk more money from players, after huge uproar they finally decided they would "deal with people on an individual basis", meaning you have to contact support and ask them to re-enable gifting on your account, beware though as many people still get told no even after waiting weeks for a response from customer support.

No, they disabled gifting because the previous gifting system was being exploited.

Thanks! I'll try that.
Update: On my second appeal, Player Support finally enabled gifting.

Nice!
Shout out to the first two people in Player Support who refused to allow me to gift until AFTER the sale on the DLC ended.
