Solo Advancing it is a Battle
I have been playing ESO+ 445 hours Solo i have one character @Level 200 and 2nd character @Level 49 , it takes forever to get level up points,it does seem the game wants you to Dungeons ,when you play solo it's a lose lose deal ,i have done main mission, gold road, clock work city ,Glen-wood and the Riff now on Apocrypha , I know i will get GRIEF in comments on how good someone can do much better, I play for fun not Competition ..I see videos where players grind to level up i am not the type for that ..i thought at 1st i would find a player to play along with but everyone is doing there own thing and don't even give time of day to join so i just keep playing solo it takes time but i seem to be doing ok, I just want to thank all the STUCK UP players that won't reply to invites.!!!

Most dungeons can be done solo when you get really, REALLY powerful. Even then, though, there are many dungeon mechanics that require two or more players. Either you need to activate two switches / pressure plates at the same time or there's a boss move than takes you out of action until you're rescued by another player.

If you haven't been, you really should try using the Group Finder. The random daily dungeon group is a great source of XP. If you want to play a specific dungeon for the skill point or gear then click the box in the top right corner and select "specific dungeon" to queue up for a group in the dungeon of your choosing (which is how to go about completing daily Undaunted missions). You can also find people grouping for trials, arenas, world bosses, or even just to go fishing.

By level up points you mean skill points? Every public dungeon ("cave entrance" icon on the map) has a main boss - defeating him first time will give you 1 skill point. Also in process you get a lot of experience from dungeon quests and enemies. Base game public dungeons can be done solo without problems. Public dungeons from new zones are harder but you can try. Also you can search for sky shards (Map Pins addon will help. and with dungeon bosses too.)

But i agree - we have to farm experience somewhere to level up alt characters. Like on dolmens or in public dungeons. About Group dungeons - they give "zero" experience themselves (it is greatly reduced there). Only random dungeon runs are usefull (but not so great). As already said, daily random dungeon gives a lot of exp but it can be done only 1 time in a day on each character.

Pace yourself as well as look for other games you like to play. Instead of constantly slogging, you can take advantage of the experience bonus you accrue when logged off. Play the game until the weight of the slog sets in and then log off. Play something else and then let that rested experience bonus build up for when you log in next time.

In addition to the above, visit the main site more often and look for listed seasonal events that provide experience buffs. Lean on those as well.

As for soloing, everyone I know treats ESO more as a solo player game. In fact, the original devs intended for the game to be accessible in this way. In other words, it was originally meant to be a casual game. It started to shift away from that a few expansions ago and it may be time for those who don't like that to start looking at migrating to another game when their personal dissatisfaction reaches an unacceptable level. If you start thinking about leaving, don't get caught up in the sunk fallacy trap.

If you want to stick around long term, finding a social/family guild can help a lot. Play the game as you have been and the social guild can help with doing harder content without having to deal with group finder issues.

Lastly, to help break up the monotony, you can create another character but a different class. Champion points carry over to all characters and available at level 1. You might find that a class change is what you need right now.

I have found that Anchors seem to give good points , so far its been working, Others have said fine a group but that isn't any fun when the players aren't a unit like a Military unite working together...

It's a matter of preference. When i was lower I'd often hang out near the dungeon daily area (major city) and look for groups. Its pretty good experience if you stick with it, both the run and the reward. A lot of higher level cp's run these for the daily rewards and there used to be a lot of LFgroups there.

Another option is hanging out near outdoor hotspots. There's probably better ones these days but some I can remember I would level at were.. the second (far east in Wrothgar) Public dungeon, lots of ramps with multiple groups), theres 1 or two outdoor areas in couldharbor zone, ghouls i think, Theres a pretty active small area in Alikr ( I THINK ITS this zone, im looking at the ingame map trying to remember), northeast side north of the Sakatamaa (spelling?) wayshrine. Theres a bridge with two higher regions with tons of ghouls packed together. Obviously exploring and finding your own can be worth it.

More dangerous yet rewarding are some of dungeons found in the War campaign map, i think these changed around over time (patches etc) though I remember one you could loop through and gather up 5-6 groups of goblins easily.

Optionally, if you don't mind soloing, quests are kind of annoying at times but serve as a mix of getting achiveents, kill xp and quest reward xp,

Hope this helps, this may be older info.

i DON'T KNOW HOW MANY HOURS I HAVE ?? But i am around CP 1700 or 1800 I currently have 8 characters maxed out and another ready to go ! // 99.9 % SOLO ! 0.1 % was me trying to get into group play ,, I do not like it much ! ... Levelling up a character does take a lot of time ! BUT REMEMBER ,, You ONLY NEED ONE CRAFTER ! ... This Crafter can craft any level item and simply leave it in one of your chests or the bank for any new character !!! So the hardest to level up is your CRAFTER ! /// Crafter needs to go to all the zones and get access to all the crafting spots etc ! and Clockwork city for the ability to craft any item you have discovered ! .. But ONLY CRAFTER needs to do this ! The others can just do the story and use the gear made by crafter ,,, Does make the game far less grindy when you stop trying to learn all the craft research points for every character ! . And then? Leveling up is funn

You forgot to tell him that getting trials done is a complete train wreck due to people not knowing mechs. It's not their fault because there are people who take a dump on those who don't know mechs instead of helping them. Then you have the quitters who bail after one or 2 tries which screws everyone trying to get it done because quitters are losers. (Don't be a loser) If you're going solo then you'll have to watch a LOT of videos to show you what to do. People on this game are pathetic and take the game more serious than real life so watch out for them. You can tell because they talk about "parsing training dummies at 60K DPS." That's code for "I have never had intimate contact with another human being and nobody likes me in rial life so my toon is all I have." Avoid those types, They're toxic. Good luck.

I think it works and levels really well as a solo game. I also play 99.9 solo. But of course one has to optimise a build.
