PvP hints/advice?
About to start a PvP focused char with a custom build (thinking Breton StamDK). Anything i should know before that? Any hints about what i abilities i should aim for or what sets should i use? I don't wanna use Alcast since i like making custom builds more.

Well the first thing I would suggest is to not use a Breton for a Stam Build. Alle Race Abilities are Magica based.
Second would be to just use a ready made build, test it out, and then adjust the abilities and or the set to your playstyle.

Oh yeah, forgot breton buffs are magic based, thanks
I don't wanna use a ready made cuz i like experimenting with stuff. I don't really need it to be high tier, just to be able not to get pulverized instantly the moment i run into someone.

Well you're limited to your Gold and Materials I'm afraid.
But if it helps, the most sets that PVP'ler ask me to craft are: Hundings Rage, Night Mother's Gaze and Shacklebreaker. The most sought after Overland Set is Briarheart. I don't have statistics for this, just experience.

DK is a good place to start PvP - you will be using both Stam and Mag skills, since they are DK, but you will have good defense and burst heals which will be necessary while u learn.

i normally start my PvP builds with Dottz or Arzeyl, and a smattering of Hack. Here's Dottz:
https://dottzgaming.com/eso-builds/pvp-builds/
Note: Doble is reworking his Drotoxium build rn, so keep eyes open for an update.

That should get your going. Basic goals - 30k health, 20k resist, 3k damage

And for grinding a new toon, it's usually easier to grind levels as PvE, then convert to PvP when your over level 50/CP160

And if ur going to run in Cyrodil - proc sets do not fully function in Cyrodil, so instead focus on specific Armor, Health, Stam, or Damage bonuses from gear that do not have any if/then dependency or computations (as in a percent or timer).

You can copy builds from other players but at the end of the day it won't amount to too much. Just because it work for those players does not mean that it will work well for you.

You have to find your own groove and run with it. And the only way to find it is PVP.
