We both usually say 'hi'' at the beginning of each dungeon but in 80% of the cases people don't bother to even greet back.
No matter what DLC dungeon it is, it can be a pain in any case specially if people fail to comunicate.
I always come across Russians, French or German speaking people in Dungeons and it's difficult sometimes to communicate.
Most of the dungeons are fine but as you said,, DLC needs you to communicate (with randoms at least) but I often leave too because I'm bad at explaining how it works.
Before people from level 10 - 50 used to bumble along and learn the ropes together. I've noticed since transmutes I'm often in a group with one or two people who just want to get it done as fast as possible and leave the newbies behind floundering.
I'm usually a healer or a tank. If tank I can't really help but if healer I tend to stay behind and let the ones that are just there for the transmutes rush on ahead. They could probably solo it anyway.
It is what it is, but I think those of you who are a high level and are just there for the transmutes have to realise that there are a lot of new players there who often don't even realise what group chat is, or may not be able to type fast enough to satisfy your needs.
Edited to say: Probably leaving before they start is the best way. Much better than leaving them behind to manage the mobs you didn't kill by themselves.
But I do get it if it's just some language problem, and I never have any issue with normal pug be it with beginner who completely silent and no idea of what to do.
Btw, if the guy go to the quest giver, it could also mean they run with their new toon as well, I still have few toons who haven't complete a lot of dungeons too. I mean, probably should be able to notice if the group is good or not when you pull the first mob.
Whatever, it's really nice to have someone to at least say hi when doing group contents
idk i heard that they will add npc's to dungeons.. which id prefer tbh
Some of us play with controllers and some play with console. Now I don't know about the console players but I have to drag my key board over to me and wade my way thru several layers of menu to get to the chat and in 95% of the cases by the time I do this the key board players are either on their way, running the dungeon, or have left group and left the instance. Also in my case I wait to eat my food buff when I get into the dungeon so if someone is saying hi, then I simply don't see it until we are off and running to catch up to Mr. Speedo.
As far as you leaving, not a problem. You at least had the courtesy to tell them why you left.
You can always make up for it when you do have time by being patient with new players.
Oh I gave them plenty of time after each question to respond. I was still at the quest giver, and all three where at the first trash pull already. I would have spent the needed time explaining the mechanics if they had just acknowledged me at some point. Im more then happy to explain the mechanics I know to any who want to listen.
I suppose they could have been playing with a controller and not had a keyboard nearby. ESO could probably do to have a quick chat wheel for common things like "Yes" "No" "Ready" "Need Heal" etc etc.
Would prefer people stop to explain mechanics more, just because I'm CP200 doesn't mean I know every boss fight mechanic across three dozen different dungeons lol.
I mean really, do you know how stupidly lifesaving it was when someone said to play in 3rd person so I could avoid ground AoE I didn't even know was there? XD
I spoke about people not responding in group chat acknowledging that they do or do not understand mechanics or discuss those mechanics.
Actually, the more I think about it the less it bothers me. I'm willing to discuss mechanics in detail, I'm also patient enough to wait for quests and afks. If noone wants to respond that they know what to do or discuss their role in a mechanics heavy dungeon, I have 5 other tanks I can que...
Wow, 5.... why? Seriously interested. Do you have a different tank set up for different dungeons, trials etc?
I want a tank for each class. Also, I like to try and find alternative tank builds that are at least effective on vanilla vet dungeons. Also my tanks do tend to do it a little different. My Templar has lots of heals and sustain, my nightblade has good single target damage, my necro has great AoE damage, my warden has 56K hitpoints and can take a beating like no other.
I like variety XD
I'm working on healers now, have my necro into CP levels, my dragon knight is level 43, my nightblade only level 18. I like to level them up without assigning the CPs to get a better feel fir the class.
Thank you, I love building characters and have all my 9 slots filled. I end up deleting some. This looks like a really good reason to buy more slots :D. I'm the same as you. I never allocate CP points when building a character - takes a lot of the fun out of it for me.
