The Elder Scrolls Online

Two questions
1. Is it too late to start now? I've wanted to give this game a go for a while now, just never had the time for it, whenever I get into a MMO I tend to spend most of my waking hours (when I'm not at work) playing x)
2. Anyone here with experience running this game on a Steam Deck? Does it run well? Any tips / info is welcome!

1. Too late by what reason?

Play it if you feel like it :)

Its always worth checking out when its free to play.

The Subscription gives you access too all content except the newest DLC. It also comes with a bottomless craft material bag (that all toons can use seamlessly) that is incredibly useful if you plant on crafting and loot everything in your path.

The game has a bit of a learning curve that it eases you into, and I'll be honest and say you won't really master the game until long past max gear level.

Gear is flat unlike games like WoW where you constantly are chasing the latest greatest meta every update.

The skill aspect is pretty big and takes most players many many months to master. Knowing how to setup combo's, what you can dodge or block, stacking dots, weave 2 attacks in per GCD, etc.

Guess I'll give it a go then :p I just wondered since the game is a few years old now, and not knowing how the "health" of the game is currently!

That's good to know ;)
I'll give the sub a go, I hate to deal with bag-space!

I dont mind a game that is hard to master, when I get into a new game I tend to go all out... Lets just hope this wont take over my life completely x)

I love that gear is more of a sidegrade so that I dont feel forced to constantly pushing for the new tier... I have played WoW since 2005, and I'm just so damn tired of that ♥♥♥♥...

Hope to see you around ^^

what do you mean "is it too late?" ? the question makes no sense. are you asking if the game is good? it is. there are like a million youtube videos about it and it's one of the top 3 mmorpgs. play or don't play. there's no such thing as too late as far as i know until a game is shut down. i recommend the game because it has full controller support, excellent gameplay, graphics and sound. the other option is ff14. it has all of those things also. they're both as good as it gets if you want to play an mmorpg.

I havn't played for several years now, I think I stopped somewhere around when they introduced the "thief dlc".
Anyway, I always played it as singleplayer. Joined guilds for the purpose of selling my junk and the occasional chat. Other than that the game is great to enjoy in your own pace and pvp can be ignored.

What I'm saying is no, it's not too late if you're worried you'll have to compete with other players, unless you really want to. "Best gear" changes with each expansion and there's only so many variations. Skills can be reset etc. And it's quick to level up characters to try different styles.

Just avoid ESO+ unless you don't mind the $$ otherwise buy a year at 22% discount and get the Crowns and bunches of everything while you are at it. It's got a ton to do if you have time. It's all at your own desire and pace. You can get crazy in it or relaxed and have the fun that you want. It does offer exploration and a lot of it. There is a steep learning curve of all that you can do -- it is HUGE.
