FF14 easily competes with ESO in regards to content and playerbase.
GW2 is fine as well, but it could be so much more if their organization wasn't so dysfunctional on getting their stuff in order.
Find newcomers is not easy but once they stick on it, basically they never leave.
couldnt care less about any other mmos
haha...
You didn't saw the negativity with the anniversary event (justified)
+ TESO do only 1 major dlc per year because the game is slowly dying, they put less assets in.
Unless a new MMO breaks the mold and offers something truly enticing, why would anyone switch?
Most people I know who play MMOs are in a rotation of the big ones we already have, so sad to see but it is what it is.
MMOs are also REALLY expensive to make and keep going. They aren't like some FPS where your only expense is re-purposing old code with a fresh paint job, and then running some multiplayer servers. The fact it even keeps releasing expansions shows that an MMO is still going strong enough to generate profit.
For ESO it is important to keep in mind that it isn't just Steam. Hell, it isn't even just PC. Given that console support is continued I do imagine they have healthy enough population to warrant the servers staying up.
Yes but in the end they get to play on their own server, so it doesn't have that same impact as having Xbox, PS, Steam, PC players get to play on same servers and can see each other (if they are on same region) like in FFXIV
It is much better than this game, in every single way,
Millions of players, and a lot more Content for all types of players.
and is it is even completely FREE as a Trial Account.
with no Pay-to-Win.
I like FF better but can't agree with the pay to win stuff. You don't need or require a sub for ESO.
FF requires a sub and each extra retainer costs 2 dollars extra a month.
You actually need the extra retainers in FF. It's not optional if you want to sell a reasonable amount of stuff, do crafting and sending them on ventures. You don't need the sub on ESO because there are plenty of ways around it.
And MMO´s nowadays suffer from brain dead content. You don´t need to think in FFXIV or ESO while doing quests, using 1 skill gets you through the whole game. Which makes them very unattractive to a lot of people.
Yes there is challenge after 200h. But a game is terrible if it needs so much time to offer engaging gameplay.
I am not a fan of souls like, but just smashing 1 button is mobile gameplay.
GW3 is in development.
Maybe you are the toxic one...
