It won't let me pick a name.

I've tried everything. It's had Elf names, human names, names that are simply a random string of letters so can't possibly be already in use. It's had three different email addresses but still can't get past the setup page. Every name is met with 'already in use', except for Luthien Doriath which apparently is unusable as it contains obscene language?!! Nothing is working. There is also no way it already knows my email as I've never played this game before. Anyone know what the hell is up with it?

People have been playing ESO for 10 years. Odds are all the names from Tolkien and other popular fantasy fiction have been taken already, including minor characters and obscure aliases. So if you want something that looks like a plausible name, you have to be inventive. Try looking at names from older, more obscure fiction, and make some creative changes.
