The Elder Scrolls Online

Anyone else bored?
I've been playing for months now. Finished the main quest long ago. Quests now very repetitive. Have a quest location that I cannot enter unless I buy a DLC. Why give me a quest I can't complete? Not even sure how buying a DLC will rekindle my interest. What would be so different about the quests in the DLCs than the ones I'm doing now? Loved the game, but I'm tired of the same old, same old now. Comments?

Well, i got bored too, even by dlcs. Quests are kind of boring, pvp very much unbalanced and gameworld enemys are too easy and maps are small. BUT i might like upcoming vampire stuff and pickpocket is always fun, maybe i should do some more rp? Downloaded swtor and playing it on 4k, quests are crazy good there, story shines and it is free. I love both but burnout happens with every game.

They should really change how they do dlc in this game. In other mmos aka the biggest mmo ever World of warcraft you only need to buy the newest expansion, all the older ones are free. If they just did that for eso a lot of people would play more and things wouldn't get so stale.

Except that WoW has a subscription fee to be able to play after a certain level...
If you want that dlc system, just pay for ESO+, ESO's optional sub fee which does exactly that.

MMORPG's are about following a carrot on a stick. You need to decide what goals you want to do in the game. If you can't do that then a different genre may be the best choice.

It's in Wrothgar. Whenever I try to enter Wrothgar it tells me I need a DLC to go there.

um, you do not get any dlc quest if you do not own said dlc. IF you were eso+ member sometime in the past and picked the quest up (because eso+ gets dlc unlocked) then its not their fault that you picked something up and never decided to finish it while you had it.

I had the free ESO+ weekend a few weeks back. Had some quest in the City of Brass that I could not complete before time rn out. Other than that, I have not purchased ESO+ or any DLCs. I received the Wrothgar quest well after the Free ESO+ weekend. And when I port near Wrothgar and try to enter, it tells me I need DLC to enter. I have been able to find other routes to some areas that require DLCs, but not this one. There just doesn't seem to be much of a challenge left unless I purchase DLCs, it seems. Not into crafting or fishing. That said, I would like to know if the DLCs freshen up the game with new quests or other content. And to those who tried to help, thank you. And to those who just decided to snipe, well thank you too.

NO

What you are experiencing is called “burn out” and it means you should go play another game for a while instead of wondering “Why is ESO going to continue to be ESO instead of changing itself so completely that it’s not ESO anymore so I don’t experience burn out?”

Edit: that came off a little harsher than I meant it to but the point is the same, sometimes you have just played a game too much and it’s time for a change of pace.

smart people DO exist

I feel the way ESO is set up is fair.

I got bored of this game really fast. I made it through Glenumbra and Stormhaven and then lost motivation to play. The game is just so damned generic... it's just a reskinned version of other games that did it better. Having it set in the Elder Scrolls universe just makes me want to play any other Elder Scrolls game...

Go play something else... do you want people to convince you to play or something?

In other mmo´s old content becomes irelevant. You still find useful gear on every DLC in this game for hardcore progression groups.

There comes a time you need to do a thing called 'taking a break' or 'moving on'.

'Taking a Break' requires you to STOP PLAYING FOR A WHILE and go play one of the many, many other games there are to play.

'Moving On' involves much the same thing, except you don't go back except once in a very rare while for nostalgia purposes.

Nothing can remain fresh and new forever, or always be fun, interesting and involved. It's actually unfair and unrealistic to think that, without buying any DLC or doing anything to expand your experience, things even *would* remain so. My suggestion is to find something else to occupy your time for a few months, then maybe try coming back, or save up for an interesting DLC coming in the future, then stop playing til that becomes available. You obviously like playing the game, but you're just burning yourself out on it.
