No DLC mag sorc DPS

hello i need some gear for a dps mag sorc build but most builds i google are either trial or dlc and im stumped...can somebody pinpoint me to good sets/builds ( for PVE )?

Most builds you find are aimed at endgame, therefore, they use endgame gear.

You can go with crafted and Overland gear (which can be bought at guild traders - Crafty Alfiq comes into mind, but prepare to pay a hello of a lot of gold for the staves).

Depends on what you’re doing with your MagSorc.

You have pets out? Stack maximum Magicka and run a Necropotence set.

You single target burst? Spell Strategist + War Maiden’s is a great combo.

You in Cyrodiil? Vicious Death + Spinners.

Buy anything you can’t grind for off guild traders.

The best endgame setup you can have without any DLCs is Mother's Sorrow + Julianos + Ilambris.

Mother's Sorrow is used by everyone anyway so even if you had DLC you'd probably choose it. The only difference here is Ilambris instead of Zaan as monster set (no big difference tho since monster sets are 5% of your dps anyway) and Julianos instead of False God/Siroria. Julianos is not really far behind these sets so you can still pull endgame viable dps with these sets. Don't listen to the advice given above, Necropotence and War Maiden are bad sets.

For PvE best armor traits are Divines and I use Arcane for my jewelery. For staves precise, nirnhoned on main hand and infused on back hand. You can also use sharpened but not many people recommend it anymore.

Mystic Orb from Undaunted, instead of channeled acceleration from dlc you can use inner light, instead of elemental weapon from dlc you can use critical surge, other than that all other skills are from base game.

Oh no never go for Xynode builds, he makes lame builds which makes you a bad player if you get used to it. Alcast's skills are fine.
