Did a bit of digging.
If you run a VPN, BTguard and PIA are both triggering it, so is my corporate VPN. Disable them and it may allow login, it did for me. Re-enable them and it will Error 301 again for me.
This is not acceptable, and I simply will not play the game if I can't use that layer of my own security protocols on my own devices.
Using PIA. No issues with my wife and I.
Not an airport. No need to announce your departure.
Which server endpoint? I've tried half a dozen so far on the US west coast, no luck.
Are you split tunneling the game client and or steam?
There have been no updates or config changes to my system between last night when i ran the new dungeons and today. VPN is getting in the way for many as of today, all of them I currently have the ability to use at the moment.
No offense to you GinsengSamurai but by you now appearing irritated at someone else's complaint to where you insult them for a complaint and criticism toward the game (the game you probably love and want to defend).. you in fact appear as the unreasonable person. But hey, if you're just defensive of the game. Say that. And make your case why its not on the games end! Being able to articulate an argument in an eloquent manner is far more more engaging, respectable, and helpful :D But if you never intended to be helpful, are you just trying to troll or what?
Love people don't lash out :D its much easier and less exhausting over time!
And thank you Sevati for your help and completely reasonable criticism!
My post was unreasonable to you because my post did not fall into your echo chamber. Sevati's post was reasonable to you, because her opinion fit your echo chamber. You two are basically patting each other's backs. ;) She didn't give reasonable criticism because nothing she has said was constructive. It comes down to one's attitude. If you're an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I will treat you like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you're reasonable and helpful, then I will treat you wholesomely.
Why isn't it on the game's end? Because if it was, then EVERYONE or ALMOST EVERYONE would have the same issue. I use the same VPN as she does. No issues for me and my wife. We're using the same game launcher. No issues for me and my 8 players, nor my wife. Login issues? Absolutely none, been able to connect within seconds, also, no disconnects even after playing for 4-5 hours. I live in Metro Vancouver, one of our friends live out in northern B.C., another one lives on Vancouver Island, another lives in Tokyo, another few lives inside Vancouver city. So obviously, they all have different computers and different ISPs. So why is it that none of us have issues, but you do?
The only part you're right about me, is that I'm a rude-ass ♥♥♥♥♥. I admit bad attitudes really trigger me. I think it has to do with having to deal with unreasonable people a lot.
PS: whoever gave me the jester award, thank you. That's 200 points coming my way. Please give me more jesters. It makes me feel happy you're spending 600 points to give me 200.
I'm in Canada. I use Vancouver (west coast) and Montreal (near east coast). That works with PIA. I have done both split tunnelling and not. Both methods works fine, but I did that with NordVPN and not with PIA.
Use this: https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat
My Bufferbloat is rated at grade "A". If your grade is less than B, then something is bad on your side of the universe.
Also, have you tried launching ESO directly from the game folder by running ESO64.exe? steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client
Did those things, I want to assume you were using port forwarding if tied to those two particular edge points, and that changes the picture. Also could possibly have been some geolocation based rule, since I didn't leave the US in my tests.
Funny thing is, I didn't have to didn't need to. Waited a day for another maintenance, they fixed the problem on their end and now things resolved for me. Common noob mistake.
Thanks for the reply without the snark this time. Its was not my connection or my setup, and you don't know me, or perhaps you do and don't know it, but I've done network and infrastructure architecture work for over 30 years. Even written about in some text books.
Its not my first rodeo with VPN problems. ;)
