It's not, "reverse psychology." I don't give a damn if anyone buys this game or not. I'm saying you were wrong in your initial statements, and I gave you definitive proof of it. There's nothing more to "judge" at that point - verdict is in, and you were wrong.
People should judge for themselves. I do not see you owning the game and giving any concrete proof why it beats others of its genre.
and don't make me laugh with the GW2 comparison. Comparing it with ESO is like comparing my little pony with Lord of the Rings.
So you bought 80 boxed copies of the game, liquified them in a blender, poured the mush into a bath tub then slid in, thus immersing yourself, in the full meaning of the word?
People also wanted another Morrowind for the last 2 TES games, but instead they got generic medieval fantasy Oblivion and generic viking zombie-killing simulator Skyrim (sad face). And TESO is far from being grindfest.
I will tell you why I like it.
1) Combat system, it is unique, with veriety. You can mix armours and weapons with any class. Be a heavy armored duel wielding mage if you want. I have my more standard medium armor stealth character but the options are there to do what you want.
2) Questing. I'm more of a PVP player and in the other mmo's I have played questing has been an annoyance more than anything. In ESO the quests are well thought out and fun to do. I still spend most of my time in PVP but now and again I can enjoy questing, enjoy being a key word.
3) PVP, the mass scale is not for everyone. Even I would like some smaller battles, but because the combat is so good everything else becomes meaningless. I simply could not go backwards now I have had a taste. It needs work, but even how it is is just so much fun.
I don't have ESO on steam. I have played since beta though, I had a week that I almost unsubbed after about the 3rd week because I was frustrated with PVE, there is a lot to do before you can PVP really. However this is changing over time. Already it is better and they plan to add more. I am very happy that I didn't though and ESO is going from strengh to strengh.
If people don't want to belive me then fine. Miss out on what is a great game.
Very understandable you got disappointed with such expectations of a MMORPG.
I truly hope we see another singleplayer ES game but am currently loving ESO because it truly feels like a ES game.
Seeing more and more complaints makes it clear to me people really lack the understanding of what can be done in a singleplayer game compared to a MMORPG. For some reason they think everything in Skyrim will work and is fun when they place more people into the same game? go figure.....as said my understanding why many complain is becoming more clear by the day
