The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online

ESO without subscription pros and cons.
Playing The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) without a subscription is definitely possible and can still offer a rich gaming experience. Here are some points to consider:

Content: ESO has a ton of base game content to enjoy. It will take a few months to get through all of that, so you have loads of time to see if you enjoy the game enough to get a subscription for the rest.
Crafting: If you’re into crafting, inventory management can become challenging without the unlimited crafting bag provided by the ESO Plus subscription. However, there are workarounds like making other characters specifically for holding craft materials.
DLCs: You won’t have access to a wide variety of DLC content without a subscription. However, you can save up Gold to buy Crowns or “Crown Items” such as DLCs, for yourself by buying them off other players that are selling them.
Play Style: If you’re a casual player, it’s okay not to have ESO Plus1. If you want to make ESO your main MMO, getting ESO Plus at least periodically could be beneficial.
In the end, whether or not to subscribe to ESO Plus depends on your play style and what you want to get out of the game

Play sub-free untill end of base game. Then buy enough ESO+es untill 1 month before black friday. Buy 1 year sub during black friday and buy all DLCs with discount. Now on, you need to buy ESO+ once or twice a year and you will have access to all content.

Buy all chapters in august with 35% discount + the event. If you too cheap, buy them in spring with huge discount.

With this way you can enjoy all the content with minimal pay.

Why would you subscribe to a game thats has servers down atleast two times a week for hours at a time?

Cause it doesn't? I've been playing since closed beta in 2013 and this is just a flat out lie.

I've never subbed, just bought some of the bundled expansions. I'm capable of soloing raids and can get on Endless Archive leaderboards easily enough, so I'm "hardcore". Never having to sub is the main selling point of this MMO, for me. I bought the game, that's enough for me. I can play it as little or as much as I want, without a sub timer floating over my head.

Just thought I'd throw that out there, since you guys seem to be under the belief that subbing is an eventual must. It's really not.

To this day have never subbed. Bought the base game + Morrowind on sale for $9, then got the Necrom Collection on the latest sale. Literal hundreds of hours of gameplay there permanently unlocked, no need for a subscription. Imho you get a better value just buying stuff outright compared to subscribing.

Only reason I'd say to ever subscribe to ESO+ is if you're big into crafting, because only ESO+ members get the craft bag. Otherwise you have to just use your regular bank as a craft mat repository, which can get crowded quick
I don't NEED the crafting bag, but it feels like I do when I don't have it. Besides, a few bucks a month doesn't mean anything to me. The tip when I go out to eat like 6 times a week costs twice what my sub does.

If 15 dollars is a lot of money to someone the answer is easy: don't sub!
