Is crafting worth it?
I'm about lvl 20 and all the gear I can make doesn't come close to being better than the loot I'm finding.

Well you need to work your skills but Gear wise till you hit 30 ( Mind you this is my thoughts ) I would just work on getting skill higher and drop and quest gear should carry you ..

I wouldn't neglect it, but I certainly wouldn't stress about it either. At your stage I would get certified to do equipment writs. This gives you easy money early game and automatically skills up your crafting as well as giving you free materials.

Later on you will be able to craft really good armour that you won't get from drops and you need to have the skills to do it. If you don't do it as you go along it turns into a real grind.

If you do nothing else, collect every bit of equipment and weapons you have room for in your inventory and deconstruct it. Also it's vital you start researching traits now as some of the high level armour need 3 or more traits.
welll you can get all the way to cp 810 and to ignore crafting for that long you must be crazy. Do your writs daily man and you should level up your crafting daily.... at least i try daily although sometimes in questing when your on a roll to stop go to the city and do daily writs.:Ebonheart:

Yeah crafting is good to have done on at least on your first chac. But Im still struggling with the jewlery crafting. I cant seem to get it to upgrade for some reason.

I agree. Very grindy. I'm assuming at some point it will be worth it but it seems very slow for now.

Crafting is not important at early level, you will need it once you hit cp160 and it's easier to grind too. Just focus on your skills first, use only drop or reward gear, you might want to save some money too to buy julianos or hunding rage later.
But you still need to research trait tho and it is best to do as soon as posible.

Wait until you hit lvl 50 CP 160 and you have all 7 professions completely maxed out. That is when I could save an absolute fortune making everything I needed. Hundlings rage, made it myself and upgraded it myself. Potions and poisons, I got those on tap. Food and drink, I can make them all. Yes, if you are not in a trading guild this will help you a lot, being self sufficient is priceless.
