New players should concentrate on enjoying the game instead of thinking that they're missing out on something at "endgame."
Because they really aren't.
There absolutely is.
There is also an extraordinary amount of content on the way to endgame too.
It's not like WoW where the moment you reach endgame everything up to that point becomes pointless to do. In ESO all that content is still relevant.
Fungal Grotto is the first dungeon you ever really run and you'll still be running it hundreds if not thousands of hours later.
Level boosts tend to be a symptom of MMOs on a steep decline.
just go from 1-50 in 2 hours of brp grind imo.
Back then you would as LV 10 level in the LV 10 areas and as LV 20 in LV 20s "old-school-style" with fixed stats wich made sense for your levels and didnt scale...
Then they added Vetean Ranks (1-18) wich kept player leveling with each DLC
However years ago they changed to A SCALING WORLD and Championpoints instead vet-rank wich again back then been capped at 810 and a hell of a lot harder to gain then today.
This ended up with any kind of XP gain behind 810 beeing "unnessesearly" so we are now at a system where you basicly level "forever"
So we have now the old 1-50 wich was meant for a FIX-level world without scaling +
"infinite" CP loop replacing leveling once 50 but basicly still beeing a leveling system.
Super weird.
On the other side leveling "toons" is a thing.
Would be kinda boring if every toon you create is insta "max cp"
and re-leveling your CPs on every toon would be even worse then farming 1-50
Zenimax didnt know where to go with Leveling in Eso from the beginning....
Now after including scaling, vet-ranks, cps instead vet-ranks, + multiple CP reworks....
They know it even less....
they always intended there to be a continuous grind, because its an mmo and thats required, thus they had vet ranks. It was determined that the vet ranks were still not enough progression, so they modified vet ranks into champion points, where v16 became cp160, which is the gear cap still to this day.
They have settled on a 3600 cap cp system many years ago and its working well. They definitely know what they are doing.
Uhm the Vet-ranks got removed cuz its was unbearable grind for new players
(when vet 18 was max) and because it was still scaling with itemsets.
So anything below max rank was "noob go level" we dont need you, your sets arent max level, your drops arent,you dps isnt, what do we want with you...

It was so much more grind...
This days Sets cap at cp 160,
wich you reach in the same time you reached vet rank 2 back then.....
The very fact that they changed a fixed level world into a scaling one later shows how little plan there was....
Also CPs got atleast 3 reworks by now lmao....
I mean im not for getting rid of 1-50, also i agree with you on BRP grind beeing easy enough....
But there was def no plan / it got screwed over a few times
there has never been a v18. it stopped at v16, which is why the cp gear cap is 160.
they changed it to ensure everyone could play together at any levels, called tamriel unlimited, which is widely praised, and the only changes to the cp system have been adjustments. there was def a plan, and it worked out well.
In those times people who actually reach a lvl cap know how to play the game.
Today you have 600 CP levels in raids who don't know what the mundus stone buff is.
With new cp system and new exp cap ajustments people already reach 600-800 levels in week - months. Next step people should ask ZOS to give them actual golden end game perfected gear at the begining of characters creation.

80% of high CP players in this game never ever read a single tooltip on skills they use on daily basis.
This wont carry them to perfected gear, but vet trials are easy anyway so they will probably get geared as well fairly easily. again, no reason to gatekeep skilled players.
if they show up to hardmodes/trifectas without the skill required, they will get filtered out regardless of cp or gear.
Yes CP is not relevant. But the content you need to pass to reach the levels and accomplish your goals are. To reach HM and trifectas you need experience, and where you will get this experience, if every other content in the game teach you basically nothing. The difficulty scale in this game is a problem - 90% of game content already require absolutely no effort to complete. So there are no proper learning curve, unless someone teach you and this is wrong.
While doing a simple questing and leveling at least some people can learn something, even if it just 20% of them it is better than 0.
