Entire collection or base and ESO+?
Hey, I am getting tired of WOW, and wanted to change up my game. Is it better to get the base and ESO+ (does this give me access to all chapters including Necrom?), or is it better to just get the entire collection without ESO+ for $29.99? I am not a big fan of crafting or houses, more into just PvE, leveling, dungeons.

ESO + doesnt give access to Necrom currently
But it DOES give access to every other DLC and Chapter,

I myself bought the collection and occasionally ESO+ whenever my bank goes too full :)

Some info on ESO+

So ESO has two types of DLC's: Expansions and Chapters. Chapters are large zones that you buy directly through Steam as a DLC, and buying one gives you all previous chapters. Expansions are smaller (small zone or group of dungeons) released quarterly, and are bought in-game. Buying the newest chapter will NOT give you the expansions, but ESO+ will. If you are just giving it a try for now, I recommend ESO+ to try the game out, which gives you access to everything but the newest Chapter. Then, if you enjoy the game enough, you could purchase the chapter (current is Necrom), and either buy the smaller DLC's or trade for them (when gifting is reinstated - lots of scamming was going on). Or, you could simply continue to use ESO+ if you like the perks.

Hope this helps!

(Some additional info: ESO+ also gives a monthly stipend of the premium currency and a crafting bag which makes crafting materials take no space.)

All the previous chapters it says it right under the Necrom collection description
"Includes The Elder Scrolls Online Standard Edition (base game), Necrom and all previous Chapters - High Isle, Blackwood, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset, and Morrowind."

Thats a great question.

For myself I did this this way 3 yrs ago because i was on a limited budget:
I purchased the base game (~us$19 back then), got the greymoor chapter(~S40us upgrade NOT more expensive full collection.)
after 2 months I purchased eso+
i used the eso+crowns to buy dlcs i want
next year I got the blackwood upgrade & eso+ and again used all my crowns to get dlcs..

it took a few yrs but now ive got all the dlcs just by subscribing to eso+

If you don't currently own the game the collection is an amazing price for all that you get, it's very much worth it. Necrom by itself however isn't really a good deal for the amount of content that it offers.

Chapters and DLCs give you access to new zones and its stories, also to new dungeons. As a beginner you dont need it at all. Base game is large enough to spend time and to look around. Maybe it is better to buy base game without chapters and without ESO+. If you like ESO you can buy "Necrom collection" and/or ESO+ later - you will spend $5 (?) on base game but next discount will be better than 50%. Probably 65%.

ED: Necrom event is going now and only owners of necrom can participate. If you start playing right now and without Necrom it can frustrate you :)
