Steam key on bethesda store?
Bought the game on the official store a while back and have a steam key for Necrom. Is there ANY way to make this work on my game?

You have to buy it from steam store in order to activate it.
But non steam keys can be activated in website if you have the game on steam

What if I buy the base game on steam and link it to my regular PC account? Will the purchases and progress be transferred from PC to steam or steam to PC?

If they connect to the same server i would think they are/can be linked. But i cant say 100%. The key doesnt work on the bethesda website?

Unfortunately, it doesn't work on their site. Was the first thing I tried after getting it.

You need to have the base game on Steam. Install it, run it once, and when asked, do not make new account, but link to an existing ESOID account. Once linked, everything that you already owned either on Steam or official version will be synced.

I played the game on official version since 2014, but on 2018 or something I want to use my Steam Wallet. So I bought the ESO steam base game during discount. Linked it on my existing ESO account, and it continued to where I left off. From there on, I purchased the expansions through Steam, and it will carry over.

Just make sure you don't make new account through the Steam, I cant remember exactly the UI. But there should be an option to play with existing ESO account.

Bethesda support might be able to help you with unlinking, but at first they will reject you saying it's impossible, until you keep pestering them, and it will take them weeks.

So my issue is exactly the opposite. I bought the ESO (launcher) version of Necrom on Fanatical accidently, but I own the Gold version there. On Steam, I own the base game and every expansion up to Necron. Will the Necon version be applied to Steam? I don't see the Arcanist as a new character choice. I do have Steam linked to my ESO account from the account settings site.

I am not sure if this was the same situation, but I always played ESO with official launcher. I have expansions up to and including high isle on official launcher.
I bought a steam deck and wanted to play on there. To make it easier, I switched to steam version. I linked my accounts in the base game of steam and all my expansions up to and including high isle were there. I dont own necrom yet, but I am now also wondering if i should buy this on steam or official launcher version.

I remember reading about this while searching for my issue and I should think it's possible. Support could confirm it for you though.
