Spell Damage vs Spell Critical - Sorc
Question - I have a question regarding spell damage, which would be active "all of the time" vs spell critical, which has to proc.

The current set I have on gives me :

Spell DMG - 1720
Spell CRIT - 52.9% (so theoretically, it's proc'ing more than 1 out of every 2 strikes over time right?)

If I switch some pieces around

Spell DMG - 2048
Spell CRIT - 44.6%

Is it worth losing the 8% spell crit in exchange for that extra 3k spell damage? I am a magicka DPS sorc / PVE. I don't really play PVP.

Hope you guys can help.

This.

If you are mostly rolling solo, you'll want to prioritize crit if you are using Critical Surge. Critical Surge will give you a 20% boost to spell damage and will heal you for 3000 health for every critical hit. The 3000 heal can happen every second if you crit that often (and you will if you use multiple DOT abilities).

Makes most content pretty trivial since your passive heals will cancel out most incoming damage. You can use pet heal or shield to account for any other damage that's more than that. Pretty hard to die as a Sorcerer.

I'd say 50-60% crit is plenty. You are still going to want spell damage.

Ok, but if you had to choose one of those 2 setups, which is best for DPS sorc / pve?
