Some people want to reinforce their decisions by making others take that decision too. So when they quit something they want others to quit it too, so they don't feel like they've made a bad decision.
This is why we get forums full of EX-players all trying to tell everyone else to stop playing. That the game is dead and that they should try something else instead. Try whatever it is they are currently playing.
The thing is though that the game isn't dead. Far from it in fact.
For everyone who thought Update 35 would destroy the game: More people are playing now than were before u35 landed. What's it like to be so wrong?
As i already said. I first started this whole topic as a counter-satire written exactly like how some ESO players go to other mmo games discussions areas telling every other mmo is dead.. :D
So i decided to have a bit of fun and do the same. Oh did it clearly stick some nerves.
No "reinforcement" needed on my decision of quitting, me and my frriends did quit already over a YEAR ago. So we all well over the game. Of course it is sad, because the game could have had potential to be good, if not so bad developers/combat team.
But yes, keep living in your hopium in a game where there literally is like 3 endgame groups left doing same few laggy/buggy trials. :D
Like this started as a satire topic, but i'm not only one who came here to say what they have observed and why ESO has become a tiny game, a front to sell crown crates (lol that crate bundle to get the polymorph deal LMAO??) compared to what it could be if it only been run by professional developers.
I know i know, you have the sunk cost fallacy hitting, most likely a long time player with lots invested in? You have spend many years and a lot of money to ESO, am i right? Of course you will defend it. Even if know the truth in your hearts.
As said, the game has these weird fanatical 100eur/dollar house buyers so obviously it's not gonna "die", but it for sure is damn empty on the game's actual endgame and also on PVP. It's crickets on overland. Compared to some other games that i THOUGHT were smaller than ESO, but to my surprise GW2 was actually way more populated inside the game. And well, FF14 is my current main game. It's known to be huge game, 2nd after good old WoW in active numbers. But this is not the point. I'm not here to ask anyone to come play some Final Fantasy with me.. you can stay here all you want. :) As said, i just did what some people here from ESO forum do, go post on other mmo areas. Maybe because bored in their game where nothing happening? *shrugs*
Enough from me tho, i've said all there is to say. Enjoy your game as much as you can, no bad feelings.
"Don't hate the players, hate the game!" as they say. :)
You can actually read my post history and see if'm a troll. :)
It even has like helpful posts where i answer people's questions about different games or what/where/when to purchase or how to link FF14 account to Steam and so on. I'm actually friendly and helpful.
But.. i'm also a known pvp player hahah, and when i saw some ESO players from this discussion started doing some weird "My mmo is best and every other mmo is dead" forum pvp, of course i did some satire response. Hey, it's only fair that things go both ways, right? :P
And today i also might have a bit of extra time on my hands, kinda waiting for new Stellaris DLC to come out later this evening today. Then i'll post less when i'll play that, so you can sigh from relief. :P
Yes, i've apparently developed also a bit of Stellaris addiction on the side with FF14 addiction. A bit weird combo of games, right?
Did care enough to comment, second time already LMAO!

If I quit a game I wouldn't be in their forums over a year later trying to cause drama.
I'd be playing a game I prefer instead.
As for PVP. It seems the PVP areas are always full of people. And its all they do. Like they have no lives or something. Hence I haven't gone back to PVP. PVE is much funner. What fun is it to play a game where vets have the same exact builds and you can never win? Psh. If I want that I'll buy a boring average MP game.
LOL.. 20 million players!!! hahahaha
This is a joke in the store page, maybe many ppl bought the game over the decades, but there are about 20k online as much.
boycott fanPaidBois!
Is spell weaving still a thing in the game?
