Forcing people to join a guild to be able to sell items is plain stupid, imho. I just do PvP and I need no guild for that. I sit with millions of gold in bank : yellow style pages, hundreds of set items that could sell for 100k or more (robes of transmutation, deadly strike, ...) ... all things I got from PvPing and I am not planning to sell on public chat, nor join a guild just to sell my stuff.
My style of playing, but honestly, I prefer dedicated my time and gold on making me poisons and potions and be able to run my PvP cessions, than having to deal with people who have high strategy on how to buy items cheap thanks to ESO Trade Center and various addons, to sell them at a higher price with high profit. Man, this is a game, no real life. rofl
Last point, yeah I know I can join a PvP guild or just a social guild and sell items through their vendors. Howerver, I have decided to stay unguilded as it requires some kind of commitment and daily duties. I have no time for that anymore, although I was main tank in raids on some "other MMORPGs" ;-)
Take care o/
I just want gold so I can have a larger invintory and bank, beyond that im not sure I will ever engage with it again.
It's this that made me not want to be in any Trader Guilds. However, I've found a few players that buy direct, cut out the middle man, and buy at very reasonable prices. Maybe slightly lower than TTC prices, but not by much... I mean they do gotta resell and make their Gold... point is, they buy, no fees, and prices are still decent and reasonable. That is how I make my Gold now in ESO and it's been a whole lot better for it. Just gotta keep your eyes open for players buying directly in Zone Chat... AND... do a bit of research as well, because not all of them give decent prices... make sure you're not getting severely ripped off. There's gotta be a balance, ya know?
Since you want to sell, click the "Sell" icon. This will open up your inventory and show what you have that can be listed. Character-bound and account-bound stuff cannot be listed. If your guild trader is in a well-traffic'd location, then you can use TTC's suggested price or close to it and be good. If your trader is in an out-of-the-way location, then you might want to go somewhat below suggested price to entice someone to hoof it out there. You'll need to pay the listing fee at the time you list, but the house cut comes out when the item sells. If it doesn't sell within 30 days, it will be returned to you via in-game mail. You can cancel any listing whenever you want but you won't get the listing fee back. Beyond that (and it generally being seen as bad form to undercut guildies trying to sell the same thing), you just wait for someone to buy.
Trading is mostly trying to figure out what other players are wanting to buy and then offering it to them at a price they're willing to pay. Pay attention to how many listings there are for the item you want to sell. Few listings usually means it's either very rare or unlikely to be a fast mover unless you give it an attractive price.
Gear can be a problematic trade item since most players aren't going to be interested in it unless it's a pain-in-the-rear to farm, it has a trait they want, it's a set piece they want/need, or something like that. Most stuff under CP160 isn't going to move very well, so it's generally only good for trait research or deconstructing for materials. "Intricate" items are an exception since they give bonus crafting inspiration and materials when deconstructed (good for power-leveling crafting skills). "Ornate" items are mostly only good for selling to NPC vendors.
If you are gonna sell something in bulk ... check your guilds current sales of that -so you wont sell over/underpriced
