the arcanist is cool but ultamitly kinda not really what anyone wanted
title says it but ik at least i saw the one mythic that charmed enemies to run towads you and was hoping that we would maybe start to see more of these illusion school type abilites and magic added so eventually we could get a illusionist or bard or something that controls the battlefield and stops some enemies from doing dmg or boosts allies capabilites drastically or perhaps makes enemies move towards a specific location or have a mass fear spell. beyond that a conjurer class focused around temporary summons and maybe a line with a full selection of double bar summons so us pet sorcs can finally get some more choice other than matriarch and scamp mage or tormentor and clanfear...

Skyrim did away with Mysticism almost completely (spells moved to other Schools)...

TESO completely removed Magic Schools & made all spells class/guild/world abilities...

Will there be no magic at all in TES6? Given that godd howard clearly hates fantasy settings, most likely, magic will be replaced with guns & the Magicka stat will become ammo. :steamsad::steamfacepalm::steamthumbsdown:

The idea that ESO needs a magic user is a bit barmy ! After all EVERY class in this game uses Magicka ! /// Arcanist as a class is badly thought out ! ...Better would be to put the skills into skill books that anyone can find or earn and allow any and all classes to be able to use the arcanist skills ! ... The really bad part though is that sorceror , necromancer etc will all be nerfed down to force people to buy the arcanist pack ! ...........

that might be an issue for PVP, but not PVE. that issue is for MIN /MAX players. Almost every class has been nerfed more than once. Players always find away around it, more so solo players. Magplar is one, but sill great for solo play. MIN/MAX only matters in endgame play, PVP and Trials only place anything really matters. and if you have been on the PTS the new gear coming out is going to make up for said nerf.

ZOS doesn't listen to their playerbase, so what did you expect?

TESO isnt developed by bethesda and isn't a mainline ES game...this really isn't that hard to grasp

my dude... the story follows the style of story telling started by skyrim and plays where you can use anything you want. the combat and level up may be different but this by and large is just a solo player open world rpg TES game with some multiplayer elements. by and large it really hits all the beats of bethesda games...

No it really does not. It is an MMORPG by design. Yes you can play it solo more than others, because it is still made to cater to TES fans.
However, the entire game is different in so many ways, it really isn't an TES maingame, just an MMORPG that borrows elements from TES games.
You don't have custom classes, you don't have an interactive physics system, enchanting is entirely different, combat is entirely different, crafting is entirely different, magic is entirely different, there's physical based abilities which the games haven't had in ages, or ever if you don't count stuff like Oblivion's unarmed perks and daggerfall's climbing, it doesn't have magic schools, it doesn't have skill-trees, it doesn't have an evolving world, it doesn't have daedric artifacts as earnable weapons nor legendary unique artifacts and gear, it doesn't have long lasting permanent impacts upon the world (any npc you kill, even named ones, just respawn 10 minutes later inside of your game), do you need me to go on?

This isn't a real TES game. I love it still because i love the world of TES, but i genuinely don't get how you can actually think this is anything like a TES game just because it borrowed a couple things from them.

my dude a mmorpg stands for massively multiplay online and was based on games like classic old school WoW most of all. like the entire idea was to play with friends and that THE ENTIRE focus wasnt on you being a chosen one god person that could walk through any enemy by yourself and be a jack of literally all trades but instead was focused on D&D style stories and combat where sure, maybe you were still killing world ending threats but by and large, you were heavily limited to what YOU could do alone and each person gets treated as just another adventurer and not the chosen one. thats the reason the holy trifecta is SO important to actual mmos and not ♥♥♥♥ like these solo player games pretending to be mmos. like sure eso is open world multiplayer but it plays in basically all regards like a solo player TES game with a heavy focus on the story of the world and the quests as opposed to anything any players do.
Cain Apr 25, 2023 @ 6:03pm
like srly i can name only a few guilds and thats purely because they are the biggest merchant guilds who always have the best ♥♥♥♥ in the best places like imperial gold reserves or st elsywhere trading guild and a few others. in a true mmorpg the majority of the focus is on how all the players interact and any and every social interaction you the player have which is why the LFG tool among other ♥♥♥♥ like it that removed the social elements in favor of meta mentality speed running convincience that in eso literally has it that people will skip every boss not needed to complete the dungeon and speed run to the end even in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ normal dungeons and why everyone basically ONLY wants god builds that can solo everything except trials and put out rediculous dmg, healing, and be the biggest of all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bricks unable to die so they dont have to work with the other people and can just look at them as extra dmg sources and dmg sponges rather than teammate they need to work with, refusing to speak to anyone even if directly asked something because answering would waste their oh so precious time...

In general, I'd like to see an actual ranger class and an actual pet class.

Passive or temporary pets does not a pet class make. The hunter class is also in no way a ranger class.

Ultimately, ESO is doomed to being generic in scope due to it's many limitations. That's fine, but the current homogenization is too much.

nay, i dont agree, see what happened to the xxx wow game, the hunter class went from needing to control the pet attack to eventually the pet just one of the auto attack pet as well.

Eh. No idea what xxx wow game is, but WoW has some of the worst players I've ever seen in an MMO.

nay, every mmo is same, wow have hard content (veteran mode etc) as well. but all mmo tend to make easy content as well for your so called "bad players", dont forget eso is making a new mythic gear to further help those not good light attack weaving with next expansion, so its all same. u cant expect they make a class (hunter) which require more complex control than other current class. your idea is okay, but the fact for mmorpg just wont happens. especially with almost all eso developer face all with a face of "cosmetic/furnishing" only , LOL

I've already stated that the generic nature of ESO likely won't allow for more fleshed out classes, so I'm not really expecting anything. Simply listing what I'd "like" to see.

There's way too much homogenization in MMOs in general. It's why EQ1 is still my primary mmo.

MMOs like ESO and FF14 are more or less my "chill mode" MMOs that I like to play on the side. I also like the ESO lore so that helps quite a bit.
