Upgrade ESO Engine pls.
I just downloaded this for the free trial and i'm not gonna lie, the graphics are quite terrible even when maxed. Please upgrade the graphics Engine to that of fallout 4 or greater please.

I'm not typically one to complain but its just a little off honestly.

considering how broke fallout 76 was at launch and that was just the fallout 4 engine running in a small multiplayer environment. i really dont think it would be a good idea trying to use that flop on an engine for an MMO.

i also dont think upgrading a games engine is as simple as click and drag *beep boop, graphics upgraded*

It's not that simple. The textured would have to be re-imported which would take time and then all recompiled etc etc. But they could do it.

They could use a different engine and its also not the Engine itself that caused all the issues of fallout 76.

What graphics card are you using? Also CPU and RAM?
I'm running at 4k with NVidia 3070 TI w\ 12GB RAM, a Core 9I-10850k and 32 GB RAM and the graphics are outstanding.

I run the game at max and it looks very nice indeed. Especially the later zones when the artists at ZoS started really getting into their stride.

The game was made in 2014. It's a 9yr old game. But it still stands extremely well up in my opinion. Especially the newer Chapters.

It's not just a simple case of "export all the textures into Unreal 5 please."

May i ask is it only the beginning that looks low quality then? i also have it at 4k 4070 TI and the graphics are also maxed in the nvidia control panel.

Head to later zones and you'll see how great it can look. Some of the later dungeons are absolutely breathtaking.

Bear in mind that the game is several years old at this point so it will never look like games made in 2023. That would be unfair to ask. You can't complain that a game from 2014 doesn't have ray tracing! :P
The base game zones look pretty old. Especially the rock formations are 2 generations behind. And also some vegetation doesn't look verse dense. But they upgraded lighting and water shaders pretty recently.

What makes the game 'bland' is the color palette or lack thereof.

I have thrown a whole bunch of ReShade against the game (which is allowed) so it looks like SeaOfThieves/WorldOfWarcraft/NewWorld and it looks way more better (for my personal taste)
I actually just started playing the trial too and my god, I really want to play this game but it looks awful even on 4k ultra settings, it runs super smooth very silky but the textures on everything look really poor, I will try with reshade today
They don't even really need a new engine, they can just provide HD textures. LotR:O did that and it improved the way the game looks without having to touch the engine.

I don't even know why "new engine" would even be an option. Just improve the existing engine. Go back to previous zones and redo the low-poly objects. Call it a "zone refresh" or whatever.

I also find the ESO graphics quite nice. The best way to "upgrade" the graphics is to upgrade the PC you're playing ESO on, i.e. high performance graphics card, SSD, etc.
it started on dx9 base game
here some video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax5jRvY3HeE
and some tweks were made but armors and models in the base game are old (meshes and textures)

new zones are better (a bit)

i find it better looking on 1080p than 4k

screenshots at steam are at most on max settings and with reshade

(until contracts with ps and xbox for old consoles expire most likely won't be any significant graphical update)

Any changes would have to be justified. Would the changes you are asking for lead to more players? Enough players to justify the cost? Not likely. If anything, it would lead to less players due to making the game less accessible overall. This isn't rocket science.
