This is what people don't seem to understand.
WoW wasn't just massively successful because it was a great game. It was massively successful because it ran on a lot of systems.
Fortnite is the next best example. That ♥♥♥♥ runs on toasters.
Easier to crank out more reskinned junk for their cash shop and low-effort DLCs.
Dolmens are passable these days unless there's a double XP event. Then you can just sit your character at one and wait. They complete so fast following the crowd is a waste of time for a tiny bit more XP per hour.
Get RESHADE - it is able to push the game shaders and color palette.
I used it to help the game look more colorful, but it can also sharpen/smooth textures.
The skybox is tricky to tweak.
My game looks much more vibrant and smooth than my buddies and we both run the game on maxed settings.
It's a 2014 game, some of the newer DLC shows far better art level & design. The noob areas are old to be fair.
I thought Dolmens had a mechanism that kill you if you camp them without being active, to prevent AFK XP farming? And if people are using macros to trigger activity, that's against the TOS and can lead to an account ban. So it's not worth the risk.
Would be nice if they went over some of the older base game zones and retouched the assets and improved the terrain textures. A bit like SCS have been doing with their Truck Simulators for countries found in the base game that look bland in comparison to newer DLCs. SCS even go over older DLCs to make them better designed. And at no extra cost to players. They don't have subscriptions or a version of the Crown Store nor lootboxes, so make far less on the side than ZOS. It's always sad to see Indie development companies doing far more to maintain and improve their game visually as they get older than major studios are willing to even consider. ZOS are greedy AF though and don't respect players as highly as some companies.
