Got 1 apex tier mount (or a decent one) from a free crate recently. Outside of that, knew crates were as foolish as electronic art's lootbox scam system. At least you OP got something while some never see anything in gambling.
They are a form of gambling and not a healthy impression to leave on impressionable young people, let alone the adults who cannot control them self.
Handing money over on the odd chance you might get something you really want or need sounds like a fool's errand.
Addiction comes in many forms and starts in many innocent ways. It starts in many innocent ways like this. If these did not present such a risk, then why are so many governments getting involved to stop or control them.
Ask yourself before you troll, have you see first hand what starts as an innocent little thing like this grow into a full blown destructive addiction that wreaks their life and the lives around them. I have seen such happen to both friends and family. I have seen it with alcohol, drugs and loot boxes.
And when you personally have to live through the experience then you are qualified to comment on it.
Remember, until you see the pain and even suffer your own pain to see friends and loved one go through hell, you have no real idea of the dangers. So think before shouting my post down.
ZOS could offer 1-15 free crowns per advertisement watched or video or something. At least with say TF2 and CSGO, you can sell whatever crates or crate items (tradable) for something in return on steam (actual money). So without crates in the crown shop, either the devs would actively been MADE to listen to the community, or this game could have shuttered its doors by now.
Now there is a point to be said that stuff like these in games are hurting people with gambling addictions and I can totally see that, where you and I can walk way I'm sure there are many that can't
Here is a crown crate simulator
This is absolutely right.
If anyone out there thinks that loot crates, microtransactions and other "gacha" mechanics are a stupid waste of time, then congratulations. YOU were never the intended target.
They're not aimed at you. You're not the mark.
Never forget that videogame publishers are now employing psychologists on staff specifically for this reason.
