ESO has only 13k current players after major expansion.

Today's Steam charts show ESO has only 13k current players. And that after a major expansion Necrom. Yikes.

Even Albion Online has 15k right now.

No wonder hard to get groups, and cities feel empty. And the few people only make writs and then logout. I guess many did not buy new expansion and are rather playing Diablo 4 or something?

I saw some streamer try out Arcanist class, the new thing of Necrom, they switched back to old class after 2 hours, since it was so bland to play apparently. Then went to play another game. *shrugs*

Does not really look like that, after a major expansion? Big oops. Maybe Necrom was not well received?

I remember Summerset and Elsweyr were still fun, i guess they work most of the team on some other project (rumors about another new MMO) and ESO gets only minor attention, recycled ideas and assets and crown store milking, like the Shade polymorph deal was with big crate package, and was not purchasable with Gems or Seals. Such shady selling tactics.

The steamchart is for users who play on steam only and does not reflect the number of users worldwide outside of steam. Using that page for games that come out on various platforms is stupid.

(I don't care about those thousands) but I can imagine only 2 cases that could explain different statistics for steam and no-steam players:
They have different tastes or habbits,
Or people leave steam and go to no-steam version.
And I think both are unlikely. So if steam playerbase shrinks then we can assume that no-steam playerbase does too.

ED: current - 17k, peak - 19. Usuall numbers for this game.

As for told by already few users. Not everyone own this game on steam, they play on a whole another way that is kinda hard to track the full amount of players, but from my past research steam users seem to only make up around 30-48% of the total ESO player count from the stats show on those mmo trackers (rank lists) Tho i don't know how accurate those numbers really are tho.

Also i will admit haven't bought it myself, or any chapters yet. I started last year and still going about finishing the main game as well as that morrowind, before i go about buying more chapters to play.

So you're kinda right on one thing, that not everyone bought into it. But i was there at launch and i can tell you many did seem to buy it, after all most citys even in peek hours of the day were kinda more empty then normal for a week or so.

Also this shows how one sided you are, cause it seems to you that one person reflects the whole community thoughts on Necrom. One single person cannot reflect a whole player base let alone a community. You fool !!! I take it your also someone who believes everything they read without question if its even true or false.

I've been seeing quite many people still use the new class even to this day. (i'm on the EU server) perhaps if you know, you played the game, you would of perhaps seen that for yourself rather then assuming just from one single persons actions.

Don't own it on Steam, and places be crowded. I think I mentioned that they added an option to hide other player's companions near in-game services that have high population and how I wish that there were options to extend that to pets because of the clutter caused by crowds.

I got it off-Steam because it wasn't released on Steam at the time, and I don't want to buy it again (though $20 and everything carries over is a little tempting because I have to launch it through Steam anyway for the controller I use). There are oodles who got it before it came to Steam.

This - and doing that by using SteamDB charts. People not understanding that there is still a gaming world outside of steam and not understanding statistics at all, but using it to troll forums.
