With their security flaws, free can be expensive on Epic store.

They give away basic version without expansions? If you are planning to stay in this game for long you will probably want to buy expansions/chapters too ("Collection" version). And it costs much more than basic version. But of course giveaway is giveaway.

ED: From google search: "While the base game is free via the Epic Games Store, players will have to purchase the expansions afterwards."

i don't feel poor, i have all my games in here, i don't like using external launchers from games that i can aquire/buy in here, not even the free ones.

I lost my loyalty to Valve long ago. I'll go where it benefits me. If I can get a game for free that's where I'll go. The only reason I'm stuck with Steam is because I have a large portion of my library here. Valve is just another faceless corporation like every other one is. Be selfish. Valve is. They do not care about any of us.

I support the Dev's, so i'll buy on whatever platform benefits them the most, since those are the people who are passionate about, and make the games i love. GoG, Epic, Steam, Humble Bundle, i dont care.

If that were true you'd buy from Epic Games since they only take a 12% cut of game sales. In contrast, Steam and GOG take 30%.

So you are ok with Steam being the external launcher, but not others?

Also, you are saying this on the ESO forum - a game that literally uses an external launcher even though you start out clicking 'play' on Steam.

Just saying.

Launchers are annoying pretty much always, I get that, but come on.

I'll happily take all the free games Epic offers me. How is the game without the subscription? Is it playable? I'll never pay for a subscription/battle pass. How does it work on Wine/Proton?

Probably temp removal, they didn't remove their announcement of TESO yet on social medias. Also the reason why it disappear is they changed something internally. (Instead of 2023, they made it 2099)

So unless later they remove or make statement about the TESO thing, I think it's just temp removal like what happened in the past only. (Since only the date was changed)
