Avoid this game (warning to new players)

I recently tried ESO again and was so disgusted by the direction it has taken that I wanted to leave a warning so hopefully no one else makes the mistake of buying this garbage in its current state. ESO has always been pay to win... unrestricted storage, access to all DLCs as soon as they're released if you pay a monthly fee. In other words you have to pay 15$/month if you don't want to run weaker suboptimal builds and use your characters as storage banks. I've found ways around this but it's very tedious. It gets worse, though. ESO also changed how loot works to make it much more grindy. Now you have to run the same dungeon up to 30 times (more if you're unlucky) if you decide to use a weapon that you can't craft. There's no other way to get loot that's dropped in dungeons and only the final boss drops weapons. Even players from eastern MMOs would consider this level of grind inhumane.

The worst part is recently they changed TOS to allow them to sell your user data. And in usual bethesda anti-consumer fashion (think fallout 76) they are very secretive about it. And if you ask too many questions they will ban you (again, think fallout 76). Pretty sure I'm still banned from posting about this on official forums but it doesn't really matter. Any post on their forums that hurts their bottom line immediately gets locked and deleted anyway... I mean, it's bethesda so why would you expect anything else?

I actually bought this game on steam when it came out years ago called ESO: Tamriel Unlimited but that's no longer in the store so I can't leave a review. Feel free to copy+paste my little rant and post a review if you own the current version of ESO. I still can't believe how predatory this game has become.

I mean you used crowns purchased with gold as argument. Crowns another person PAYD FOR. No matter how you turn this coin buddy its paid for. There is money going into Zenimaxes P2W model there is no way around it. I mean i even asked who "gifted you" which is what people do when you paid them with gold but you dont even know that it seems.

Exchanging in game currency for irl currency aka crowns have nothing to do with general p2w terminology and model in game, where developers (silently) allow that.
Go play modern Lineage where without in game shop items (which are not cosmetics like in ESO btw) you will be nothing,after that you will immediately understand meaning of that word.

You already have alot and not just from me.
Using a shiny term "p2w" meaning of which u don't know (actually it is l2p issue in your case,otherwise you should not care and waste ur precious time here).

This game allow you to have plenty of side ways to deal with so called "paywalled" items and buying all SHOP items along side with any dlc content while in same time without spending even a penny.P2W GAMES in most cases will not allow that,or atleast without RMT.

Go play WoW without buying new chapters,while having monthly subscription as a mandatory.

Classic MMO whiners all over the place since this genre existence.If the game have any kind of monetization system (even only cosmetics) they will convert all of their l2p issue to p2w claims.

Deal with it now.

You care about PvP in an MMO. Something that is literally made for those who play more to benefit and win. Not generally based around skill. All in an MMO, which historically have ALWAYS required subscriptions or money of some sort to access all parts. You want everything for free with no solid reasoning behind it other than made up pay2win claims.
