Avoid this game (warning to new players)

I recently tried ESO again and was so disgusted by the direction it has taken that I wanted to leave a warning so hopefully no one else makes the mistake of buying this garbage in its current state. ESO has always been pay to win... unrestricted storage, access to all DLCs as soon as they're released if you pay a monthly fee. In other words you have to pay 15$/month if you don't want to run weaker suboptimal builds and use your characters as storage banks. I've found ways around this but it's very tedious. It gets worse, though. ESO also changed how loot works to make it much more grindy. Now you have to run the same dungeon up to 30 times (more if you're unlucky) if you decide to use a weapon that you can't craft. There's no other way to get loot that's dropped in dungeons and only the final boss drops weapons. Even players from eastern MMOs would consider this level of grind inhumane.

The worst part is recently they changed TOS to allow them to sell your user data. And in usual bethesda anti-consumer fashion (think fallout 76) they are very secretive about it. And if you ask too many questions they will ban you (again, think fallout 76). Pretty sure I'm still banned from posting about this on official forums but it doesn't really matter. Any post on their forums that hurts their bottom line immediately gets locked and deleted anyway... I mean, it's bethesda so why would you expect anything else?

I actually bought this game on steam when it came out years ago called ESO: Tamriel Unlimited but that's no longer in the store so I can't leave a review. Feel free to copy+paste my little rant and post a review if you own the current version of ESO. I still can't believe how predatory this game has become.

The developers have to make money somehow or else there's no money to fund the new content they keep bringing to the game.

I mean, I have all the *meta gears* since 2014, got each and all of the arena, hm, speedrun, trifecta achievements and whatnots, yet I had never recieved any PRIZE for anything, I wasn't even aware theres any organized competition for anything where $$$ (or real life prestige-snickerslolol- for that matter) is on the line to be won.
If theres any organized competition in ESO that im not aware of, please do let me know? thank you

"Winning" does not require you to win "prizes" P2W means you Win over others by paying money which you do. You didnt even once try to deny the hard fact that Warden was a raping machiene in PvP and that you simply won by being one. When u can get ultimate weapon/armor (or upgrade) only for real money,like in old Corean games for example,which literally can allow you to dominate whole server in a pvp oriented game - thats what is called p2w.

And pvp oriented game is not that crap you play in last 10 years with separate zones (like boring battlegrounds) and etc,but games where you can be killed by anyone EVERYWHERE even in town.

All Achievements are irrelevant,they provide zero benefits for your in game character in terms of POWER.Every single DLC you can buy for in game currency in case you need that "new DLC meta item" for making top tier PVE scores.

nobody cares man. It's the new thing now just riding that eso hate train cuz it's cool and all the clueless simple youtubers do it and sheeple just follow because they can't think for themselves. I enjoy ESO every day and there is nothing like ESO on the market. It's still the best mmo on the market and the player base is still bigger than pre corona. There is nothing wrong with the game. Every day i see tons of players enjoying it. I never see people crying about ESO in game but just enoying it like normal regular people. These 0.1 percent elite no lifers with their loud mouths crying about it are nothing. Nobody cares about you. Eso is thriving and is in one of the best current states atm. I strongly recommend every new player to get this. It's amazing!!

Alot of you don't know what pay2win is it seems. ESO is a subscription based game with optional free play for the less fortunate, not the other way around. It's like saying ff14 or WoW are pay2win cause you can't play without subbing, it's a dumb conclusion to come to.
If you play ESO, you sub, if you do not, don't come whining about it, it's the choice you made.

Pay2win would be buying BiS gear straight off the store with rl money, or buying currency that let's you do that(like if crowns were used for that). As far as i know, nothing in ESO allows for that. The DLC quests still require completion, the fact that they are 'locked behind paywall' aka the subscription isnt pay2win, its a friggin subscription based game, just sub ffs.

No it's actually you,who have no clue about anything,including game market in last 30 years and games (including particular genre) on it.

I have everything in this game in terms of gear and progression,while i pay 0 (ZERO READ IT AGAIN) real money for that with no RMT involved.Now answer the direct question - how it possible with p2w system.

If you tell me that you don't know that you can buy crowns with gold - i will consider you as a 100 in game hours noob.

I doub't that,because you consider an achivements as a actual reward lmao.

You can blame this game for everything from the crap servers,crap engine,balance issue,bugs,etc,etc,etc,but you have no clue what p2w is a fact.

I did, in two threads over the last 6 months, but you decided to ignore the answer.

If winning is completing all the content you have to pay.
If winning is doing every trifecta on trials and dungeons you have to pay.
If winning is getting expensive motifs and recipes to sell you have to pay.
If winning is decorating houses to win online contest on housing you have to pay.
If winning is exploring Tamriel you have to pay.
If winning is having the strongest builds you have to pay.
If winning is testing every class and race you have to pay.

Even if you want to roleplay you have to pay unless you´re a red guard or boosmer, because every other race has a native land DLC which roleplayers would want to start there.

No. Its not.
You purchase what you want then play how much you want. The subscribtion is just for people that wanna have storage and stuff but content itself is a one time purchase and you own it. So dont say people dont know what P2W means when you dont even know what a subscribtion based game is.
