How do i remove annoying chat window anyone ?

can someone please share any ideas on how to completely remove or hide the annoying social chat menu ? i already know about settings>social and uncheck all those things. but it keeps popping up window when i do anything.

if you hit enter where it will let you type a message you can hit the arrow in the bottom leftside and it will minimize it ...

you can also on the edges get ahold of it to resize it and make it alot smaller

Assuming you are on PC there is a very useful addon called something like "Chat Window Manager" which lets you set up a key to instantly move the window out of view.

Yeah clicking the cursor to minmimize the window works but it just pops right back up. Also does this chat window manager allow me to hide it permanently ? That's what I'm ultimately after if possible is to get that thing to go away and stay away forever . Thanks for tips so far

yeah storm pooper i seen that , but as i said i'm looking for a way to "disable" or "remove permanently" not to "hide" .... whenever i do what your suggesting it keeps popping back up . i tried the minion program and "chat window" addon , but there is no where showing how to actually use it .

Chat window manager has 3 screenshots on its website download page, accessible via Minion/ ESOUI website, which give you a clear idea as to how to configure it: Uses the in game settings. Only "auto-hide" though so might not be your ideal but the best option currently available.

Please note that you will also need to download the suggested Lib addons so that it will work.

Amongst other things it will allow you to:

•Set a key binding to toggle the chat window so you don't have to click minimize/maximize.
•Configure the chat window to auto-minimize when logging in, changing zones, or doing a /reloadui.
•Optionally remember the current chat window state when reloading (see Addon Settings).

The default way on the PC is:
- disable leaderboard notifications in the default settings
- get an add-on called NoThankYou to disable the "[friend] has logged on/off" messages
- set a chat tab with all the options (like guild 1, zone chat) to disabled
If it's maximised, It should disappear eventually.

If you get an add-on called FCOChatTabBrain, then you can get it to disappear faster.
Then you have to set the options in your other add-ons (pChat, etc) to make sure it disappears, or not use those add-ons that keep it up.
