Charts are only login numbers. ESO effectively have lost tens of thousands of subscribers overnight. Yeah, they will still login but won't spend a single $, doubt that's profitable in any way for ESO.
Other big mmos with regional pricing are delighted to gain those thousands of players while ESO loses them. In a cutthroat game market such as mmo genre, those numbers mean death to any mmo. I'm sure some marketing genius in Bethesda have cracked the code somewhere and losing thousands of customers to the comptetitors are actually beneficial for the company xD
I'm sure you would be still wearing the big boy pants if the ESO+ price hiked up to $45 a month cuz "no one cares" lul
wow, so much salt from someone who does not now how free market currency exchanges work.
Imagine making up numbers like this clown who doesn't even realize (1) Steam charts are concurrent users, not total users (2) the game is played outside of Steam on PC, (3) is available on PS and (4) is available for free via Xbox game pass.
Imagine not being able to read, guess they don't teach that in clown academy. Concurrent player numbers don't mean anything. ESO just lost a thousands of subscribers and cash.
Steam charts showing subscription status of each user since when? Did you ask each of those players personally they have a sub?
can offer price exceptions.
It used to be about 1/3rd of that 12 euros for 6 months ESO+ now gone
Well if you used to pay that, they didnt lose that much money, by losing some those player's sub.
Other problem is if price gets to low, people not living there, might try to buy and they lose more money and have a lot more support/complain tickets if it does not work to deal with, costing them money. So they choose the option the makes the most or cost them the less.
If that's what they think is the best option then good for them. Meanwhile, other mmos are already bigger than ESO and keep using regional pricing. Not only they have a steady line of income by offering suitable prices, they also enjoy a much bigger playerbase and popularity.
ESO already lost a huge amount trust and goodwill with their nonsense updates in 2022, regardless of the price. AwA, horrible balance changes, abandoned pvp, low effort expansion etc. I mean if anything, they should have offered even better pricing or bundled offers to entice more players. Instead they are doing the opposite and alienating/losing players in droves.
I still don't know what their endgame is. Obviously, decreasing the playerbase has been accomplished. If the quality of the game was improving, we could justify paying more. It's literally the opposite. Why pay 3x for a game that is getting worse every single year?
