300% increase in eso plus prices in Turkey
6 months eso plus 655 TL. 6 months wow 600 TL. The new hikes are terrible. It would be better if you closed the direct access from Turkey instead of doing such a thing. And no one would be sorry, wow, when it's cheaper and eso plus is so expensive (for Turkey, due to the exchange rate and the latest 300% hike), no one looks at eso. Why play eso now when there is a game like Wow for cheaper. You have completely lost the Turkish community. If there are people who are racist and do not like Turks, they can be happy. Eso has become too expensive a game to be played in Turkey anymore. You will no longer see the Turks. I wish the rest of the world a good game...

Yeah, they raised the prices 3x just a day before my sub was getting renewed. I was suddenly left with about 450 tl in steam wallet with nothing to spend it on since ESO went crazy. I ended up buying BDO and its most expensive conquerer pack for 200 tl lul.

Really fast way for ESO to lose a couple thousands players overnight
charts show no drop at all. you're def overreacting. That, or other people who bought years+ of ESO spent their free crowns on the DLC they wanted to keep forever ^^

Charts are only login numbers. ESO effectively have lost tens of thousands of subscribers overnight. Yeah, they will still login but won't spend a single $, doubt that's profitable in any way for ESO.

Other big mmos with regional pricing are delighted to gain those thousands of players while ESO loses them. In a cutthroat game market such as mmo genre, those numbers mean death to any mmo. I'm sure some marketing genius in Bethesda have cracked the code somewhere and losing thousands of customers to the comptetitors are actually beneficial for the company xD

Imagine making up numbers like this clown who doesn't even realize (1) Steam charts are concurrent users, not total users (2) the game is played outside of Steam on PC, (3) is available on PS and (4) is available for free via Xbox game pass.

The complaint is about Steam's regional price, and Steam Charts has always been a good way to determine huge dips/gains in popularity, see Lost Ark for instance, those losses and gains are similar both on and off-Steam. I know how to read data and there has been no noticeable drop in the PC playerbase at all.

Imagine not being able to read, guess they don't teach that in clown academy. Concurrent player numbers don't mean anything. ESO just lost a thousands of subscribers and cash.

Steam charts showing subscription status of each user since when? Did you ask each of those players personally they have a sub?

655 TL = 35 euro? Damn that is half the price rest of us pay for 6 months.

Companies on platforms everywhere
can offer price exceptions.

Well if you used to pay that, they didnt lose that much money, by losing some those player's sub.

Other problem is if price gets to low, people not living there, might try to buy and they lose more money and have a lot more support/complain tickets if it does not work to deal with, costing them money. So they choose the option the makes the most or cost them the less.

If that's what they think is the best option then good for them. Meanwhile, other mmos are already bigger than ESO and keep using regional pricing. Not only they have a steady line of income by offering suitable prices, they also enjoy a much bigger playerbase and popularity.

ESO already lost a huge amount trust and goodwill with their nonsense updates in 2022, regardless of the price. AwA, horrible balance changes, abandoned pvp, low effort expansion etc. I mean if anything, they should have offered even better pricing or bundled offers to entice more players. Instead they are doing the opposite and alienating/losing players in droves.

I still don't know what their endgame is. Obviously, decreasing the playerbase has been accomplished. If the quality of the game was improving, we could justify paying more. It's literally the opposite. Why pay 3x for a game that is getting worse every single year?
