Right off the bat...

I just installed ESO, created my character, and I'm already stuck on a bug. Watched some tutorial videos, according to them I should be told to search the cell where you begin the game, and then the Prophet should appear and talk to me.

My quest objective says "Find a way to escape Coldharbour." No prophet appeared. A woman showed up, hit the door, and then ran off to the other side of the room where I can't talk to her. The door is still shut, and I have been stuck in this cell for hours trying to figure out how to fix this. Tried restarting several times, made new characters, nothing has changed. Submitted a ticket, but I'm not sure if/when anyone will get back to me.

If anyone has suggestions, I would really like to be able to play this game.

you don't get quest for looting dremora or something like that?, press J to see the detail of your quest , you probably miss couple step of the quest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQgQTleOmB8

Nope. I'm literally locked in the very first room you start the game in. Quest details are pretty much what I said above.

ah i get what you meant, when Lyris hit the jail door, you can't interact with it after that using E ?

the only way i can think of right now is to try repair your game, open the launcher, click the gear icon on top, and click repair

same, never had this issue, weird, can you take a video and upload it from the very first you start the character?, i'm just curious

are you playing with keyboard or xbox controller? That woman unlocks the cell door, then you have to interact with the door to open it, keyboard is E, controller is A.

Have you tried /reloadui or press . to togle the cursor it might happen to me but I loget out and back in and it was gone the first time.

I read something about being stuck and getting teleported to a wayshrine. Read it under the question mark found at top of map screen. Worth a try maybe

Type {/stuck} and enter in chat. Might work. I am not stuck and option came up

So somehow the problem resolved itself after I left the game alone for a week. Unfortunately, I don't have a real fix for this. I tried everything that has been suggested so far and nothing worked. So leaving it alone is the best solution?
