People that complain about this, likely are the ones that play like 1 hour a day. Or just don't know what theyre talking about. The only game i've heard someone say something is unrealistic to get maxed out. Or just get, are 5 star gems in Diablo Immortal.
Either way, Paying 15 a month for a sub gets you 15 bucks of the premium coin. So you can easily get a cooler mount if you'd like. Sub imo is worth since you get unlimited crafting space.
People like to complain about the sub in this game for some reason, when this mmorpg honestly gets the most content updates out of like any of the big mmorpgs. Plus you know, sub in an mmorpg is still the norm. Most games that make you pay a sub price, dont even give you premium currency either. I just yolo buy loot boxes with my sub money since idrc about it lol. I just buy it since you get all of the expansions besides the most recent one, and that unlimited crafting bag. Plus some slight bonuses towards exp and I think gold. it is like 10%
I also bought that Meridia's horse someone mentioned.
It costs 16k seals, and it can take like 8 months to get enough seals for it.
o.o
I mean im sure there is other mounts. Either way, if a person wants to do most of the content with out spending several hundred bucks. Theyd end up getting a sub, and just getting mounts with the premium ♥♥♥♥.
Honestly ive never gotten to end game, so I dont even know what other mounts you can get with out spending real money
Biggest way to get mounts for free is by participating in in-game events that occur throughout the year.
There's a mount you can get for free by using the antiquity system (need Greymoor DLC) but this has quite a bit of a grind. It's a pretty cool mount tho.
ZoS also used to give away mounts as log in rewards in the past, but they've gotten very greedy about it now.
Personally Idc about the free mounts. If I get to end game, ill try for them but I already have several cool mounts from using my sub money on loot boxes :^).
And tbf ZoS actually puts out worth while content several times a year. This mmorpg out of all the ones i have kept track of, gets the most content updates out of any Ive played or seen/Know of. So I can see why theyd be kinda greedy with things, when they put in a lot of money to making content.
*mentioned endeavours, same as what is in crown store: https://benevolentbowd.ca/games/esotu/eso-endeavors/
*indriks are available again from next event: https://eso-hub.com/en/guides/indrik-vendor-guide

There's some as part of events or DLC collections such as expac collector editions, similar to FF14.
If you want endeaver ones, such as the 8k and 16k endeavers, they'll take months. Typically the weekly quest gives ~250 and the 3 dailies give 10-15 each. So minimum it'll probably take 30 weeks to get a 16k endeaver one.
The seasonal crates cycle out every 3 months, and then are sometimes brought back, which you can see in the crown store showcase articles on the ESO website.
So can you eventually get a radiant apex mount you like? Yes. Is it quick, and can you guarantee the mount you want will be in the store? No.
