Edit: Currently wondering if players from Belgium/Netherlands can get the free lootboxes from Twitch Promotions...
They can and they can also still buy ESO's gamble crates just fine.

ZOS likely managed to weasel its way through thanks to their poor Endeavours system they implemented to appease their new Microsoft overlord's policies.
I'm from Benelux and i cannot buy any crown crates! Where u get this misinformation from dude. it's literally not possible for us here

i think its kind of unfair that some places ban OPTIONAL things, and alsol kind of unfair if a player from there realy wants that costume, but cant get it because there place says no
Unfair ? So all the different laws in all the countries on this planet is unfair aswell since all got different laws ? 😅
Well apparently after doing a tiny bit of searching, I found out that E.S.O is actually considered PEGI 18.

Gambling is legal from the age of ...21 I believe, but I don't know if PEGI goes any higher than 18.

None the less, I was going to say that if the game was PEGI 16 or lower then it would of been correct to ban loot boxes as they are considered "Gambling", but since it's PEGI 18 I find it stupid to ban an adult from doing something which is 'Optional'.

Now "Gambling" in any form is addictive to many, personally I don't get it, I've never bothered with any loot boxes in any game, so I wouldn't know, the whole idea of "Buy it with real cash, and maybe you'll get something good" is completely stupid to me, and I don't deal with 'Stupid'.

Kids would buy anything that is flashy or colourful, as long as you show them that 'Super Rare' drop, and don't tell them it's a 0.1% chance to drop from any loot box they will continue to poor money into loot boxes until it finally hits them.

If an adult on the other hand decides to do that, and waste all his/her earnings or savings on loot boxes, then that is his/her problem, they are old enough to understand what they are actually doing, and how they are wasting their own money.

Again, since the game is PEGI 18 I don't understand why they would ban this, you can't control what an adult person does, and you shouldn't be able to control what an adult person does with his/her life.

If it was, and I'm repeating my self, PEGI 16 or lower then I would of sided with the countries that banned this system.

I guess people don't actually have as much freedom as they thought they did in these countries, but that is a whole different discussion.

Yes please, LETS BAN VIDEO GAMES, THIS WILL SOLVE ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS,

sheesh, just remove the lootboxes, not the entire game.

A monkey can understand that,

fortunately, eso has no pay2win lootboxes, and with the endeavor system, there is technically a way to get the items ingame, so its legal.

Nice try.

They're banning gambling. Gambling that targets kids. I wish more countries would follow suit.
