How do you keep sorcerers from getting boring?
Question for you sorcerer-runners.
Before the battle, I summon unstable clannfear.
I summon a Twilight Matriarch

During the battle, I cast Crystal Blast over and over.
Once in a while I throw Boundless Storm.
And if I do get hurt, I throw Dark Conversion. (But I don't do that often, since Crystal Blast heals me).

SO, basically, I spend the whole battle hitting my "2" key. Crystal Blast. Again. Again. Again. Stand and watch my Clannfear fight until I get more magic. Hit 2 again. *Yawn*

I was planning on doing an Arcanist since I like the ranged DPS thing. But I've started to move to Arcane Warrior since ranged DPS seems so dull.

I am 37th level. But I can't see any reason to even use my skill points unless I change focus.

It's getting dull, though. I have been running one of my non-mains, just because it is different. (I don't know if it is less dull or just dull in a different way, but then... my Templar is lower level).

Anyway, for those who run sorcerers, how do you keep it interesting? Or am I missing something?

If your Matriarch doesn't outperform your Clannfear then you have more than 20k hp which is nonsense for PvE in this game unless you're a tank and also you have low offensive stats because with decent magicka and spell damage, Matriarch heals for like 10k+

Also, using a pet on single bar? :D
I don't find it to be nonsense when i can survive on my own and are not dependant on others.
Also yes, using a pet on one bar is a good tactic because when you switch, it's unsummoned and you get magicka back.

I have 15k hp and don't depend on others for survival.

I... I really hope you're just joking :D

You get like 1500 Magicka back but resummoning your pets costs twice the amount, resulting in a magicka loss :D You really are clueless aren't you...

I'm not even gonna mention that resummoning has an annoying 1.5 sec cast time which leaves you vulnerable. I guess you spent your 400 hours idling in this game, otherwise there is no way you can be this clueless about the game

It's fine when you're trolling in your own thread, but don't do it in someone else's thread.

There are far better ways of getting magicka back and getting yourself healed. Consuming trap (on a dying enemy) and dark conversion.

What i would like to know is, what do you think i do? Unsummon then recall it back right away? Because if you thought that..... wow, just wow.
Seems you are the clueless one when you don't even realise that you can get magicka back to cast OTHER spells.

"Trolling" lol ok, whatever you say. I'm just going to ignore remarks like that.

lol try this. volitile familiar both bars and out at all times. apply buffs inner light and critical surge from back bar. Useing a lightning staff attack target with heavy attack to regain some mana. once pet engages start with AOE and the heart of your rotation. (front bar) First liquid lightning last 12 sec then unstable wall of elements 10 sec. once this is done switch to back bar and activate pet and cast deadric prey. Hit with heavy attack again to regain mana. by the time your heavy attack is done. if done correctly by the time you get your second heavy attack all your AOE pet and curse abilities will be ending around the same time ( while learning use the final pulse from your pet as an indicator to start the rotation over again) . start the AOE again. Crystal frags should be on the same bar as your AOE (front). the reason for t his is that it will proc while casting spells on the same bar. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU SHOULD BE CASTING IT ! It will be an instant cast for increased damage at about half the MP. on the front bar you also want either endless fury OR pulsar. whichever you chose for front put the other on the back. Personally i use endless fury and bring it into rotation on all mobs instead of heavy attack for the mana regen. With bosses i do not activate until heath is below 20% for the added damage. once you have bult up enough energy drop elemental rage. again using lightning staff increases the duration for 2 sec. if mana isnt a problem and you want to span crystal frags while elemental rage is going have at it! be sure you are keeping up with inner light and critical surge!

note: Inner light grants major proph which increases your crit. critical surge heals you when you crit. what happens to you happens to your pet so casting both also allows your pet to heal you on crits. Also with that much AEO on multiple targets each crit will heal you as well. with all the AOE you are doing using endless fury will restore mana too!

you will have one skill slot left and one ultimate. If your more of a solo player or do random dungeons with random players Hardened ward is a great way to go. If you are in a great guild or have a great group you run with and trust your healer you can go with another. For back bar ultimate i would suggest greater storm Atronach or if you managed to get your mages guild high enough ice comet.

This will assist with the "dullness" of ranged DPS :)

You don't have to activate inner light. Just having it slotted is enough for that max magicka and crit bonus.
