170 GB Install Size
So basicly, you download 68 GB, it expands to around 82 gb and then steam wants you to "Install" the game, which also requires another 85 GB.

Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serious? If you go on steam files, find the game files there, clikc and open ESO from there it opens and it says that it is up to date with latest patch.

But that way you cant use your steam account.

I have played this for 650 hours before, there wasn't this kinda bullshittery, how tf did they come up with this huge "second installation" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Well, not exactly. First you install the game trough steram, that asks around 65 gigs of space. When its done you start tthe game and open the launcher, with will checl the installed files and install the rest of stuff - like latest updates. However launcher also asks you for around 80 gigs, thinking that the base game is not istalled already, because he doesnt know that for sure. That is why launcher asks you for 80 gigs, which is total size of the game, but during download and installation process it will not take all those 80 gigs, but onlu 15-20 gigs, for the stuff that steam game did not have in its installation folder (like recent patches and additions or so). In the end the full game, that is ready to play will take around 80 gigs. However in order to let launcher finish its process of installation you have to have around 150 gigs free on the disk, right from the beginning, before even installing the basik package from steam.

80GB is STILL f***ing ridiculous. i'm expecting the worst. not to mention that after an endless time this game needs to download for the BASE game, every "patching" later takes hours.

this is either bethesda not giving a damn about usability of their games or a scheme to bind player to the fastest, biggest, nastiest internet service providers. most likely, both of the above plus stupidity of the managers behind this strategy.

Except the entire game is downloaded all the time.

yeah. and then FAILS. and then needs too get "repaired". which isn't an automated process, so even after you've let this ♥♥♥♥ happen overnight, you are greeted in the morning with a failure message and have to let it run through again.and.again.

seriously, whats the purpose of this game? i thought money making for bethesda, but now i'm not so sure anymore.

Steam thinks it needs 170Gb, but it doesn't need that much. Store page says 85GB. But Steam needs to see 179GB to install.

I installed it by steam and the game's own launcher on a 111gb ssd and still didn't have enough space to download and gave error to repair, this is ridiculous

Is there any way around this? I have a 256GB SSD which I already emptied as well as I could (I use this for work too though so I can't delete everything just in order to install TESO).
Its ridiculous. Going by the comcast data rate, that's a $20 download over 1.01 tb. Or if just below 1.01tb its a $30 download. Do these game developers even think about their audience?

No, there's no way around it. You'll have to buy another hard drive if you want to play it that badly.

You still have data caps? Haven't had them since 2001. What country are you from?

Unfortunately our government is okay with cable companies holding co-operative monopolies which have explicit non-compete agreements. The only place you can get good internet in the US without spent several thousand a year is Tennessee. I'm not exactly sure why, but they tend to rise above the crony capitalist nightmare -- at least when it comes to industry and infrastructure -- the rest of us have to suffer through.
Do Americans really have caps on their internet usage????

Yep.

We also have relatively ♥♥♥♥ internet speeds for a way higher price than the rest of the world.

It's fantastic!
