Not to mention I think pet classes are kinda lame.
I'd have to agree. D2 necromancer is a treat to play. Golems or Skeletons? Hmmm.
Large scale corpse explosions are nice, too.
ESO necromancer is...meh.
It's a shame they didn't decide to go that route. A dedicated pet master would've made for a cool class. I get that two classes already have a pet of some sort, but having the chance to play an evil-type necromancer was my hope. Even in the trailer they made it seem like you could surround yourself with minions.
I can definitely see where he's coming from tho, I feel a lot of D2, even D3 necro in the eso necro.
Worse to add insult to injury pretty much all the context activatables for them simply aren't fun. Or have poor visual cues.
I'm actually glad they took the route they did with the Necromancer. If this was wow or even Guildwars where you have a larger skill bar to work with and better pet mechanics I'd say you guys are right. But neither of those things are the case. And the unique class mechanics they do have make them fun to play.
I feel I should also remind people that the very term necromancer is derived from Lovecraft's works...and encompassed a great deal more than just creating zombies.
redundant? really? but every stamina class using the same 2h abilities since this game's inception is not redundant.... get real
So, what if they made another pet class? more pet-classes are fine, make each pet act and have different abilities and passives; that's creative, no? it is perfectly ok to mimic or copy other mmos that are successful, looking at WOW. unholy Death Knight are a good example of what a stamcro could play like, or their magicka counterpart (magcro) can be a combination of affliction warlocks with a pet like how affliction warlocks still had a pet summoned and each pet had a different ability. but no, let's make mag sorcerers the only class that is unique. the only thing I see when I look at eso's necromancer class is laziness and lack of creativity. yes, just another weapon skill, guild skill ability class.
talking about redundancy...
