tbh. i think both the warden and the necro need a rework in design and mechanics (and i main warden and love the class).
Its almost like the skeletons and bones were an afterthought lol
did.... you ever play a diablo 2 necromancer? https://img.fireden.net/v/image/1446/31/1446312601080.jpg
First off a Necro should be a straight up pet class. They should be able to summon at least one undead minion that follows them. Also the powers of the Necro should be all about sapping the life energies out of mobs with lots of DOT effects and direct lifetap type spells. They have some of that but it almost seems like an afterthought instead of the main focus of the class.
As I said before I am enjoying the class so far but I wouldn't have sold it as a Necromancer Class. It's more of a Witch Doctor type class than a Necromancer.
Say the skill tree revolves around having the pets out in order to do any other ability (Because the pet casts the spell, not you), than this problem would be solved simply by putting your pets away. Obviously, other skill trees such as one-handed, two-handed etc would not be affected by the pets being out or not.
At the same time, i can understand not doing that, as that is quite a bit more complex than the average player would enjoy. That being said, a necromancer usually implies being able to raise the dead and use them to fight for you. Of course, that's not going to stop me from playing necromancer. Just my opinion.
Having the necro control a small army would be a nightmare to balance. Not only the performance but also the AI, what abilities they would have and the balance in PvP. With how the targeting works, half the time you wouldn't be able to hit the necro.
You stil have 3 summon pets with the blastbones, skeleton arcanist and spirit mender, some or all of whom are used on necromancer builds.
You also have the gargantuan ultimate as another arguable summon, you can turn yourself into a bone giant and resurrect dead teammates.
You suck the life force from recently dead corpses and enemies with various abilities, either harming enemies or healing/restoring yourself and teammates.
I will admit that I wish some of the abilities could be more useful or different, especially the scythe. But I can't really understand where you're getting the impression that necro doesn't summon the dead.
Listen dude. You have no brain if you consider blast bones a pet. IT's literally just a fireball in the shape of a skeleton :/
