Sorry, did not mean to start another companion thread. I'm fascinated by this. I cannot figure out how to give Mirri stuff, yet.

SImply talk to her,once you will find companion gear you will be able to give it to her.
You can also select the skills they should be using,mount what they can ride and outfit they can wear.

I am talking to her, but I seem unable to give her stuff. Do I have to buy her stuff separate? I mean doesn't look like I can give her my stuff. I really hope Bethesda takes this to the next level, I'd like to be able to completely personalize the companions, this is the best idea they've came up with.

Companions only can use special companion gear/weapons.If you didnt find any yet you can check guild traders,green and blue companion gear sells for very cheap.

There is special companions gear, you cant put the "normal" player gear in a companion.
Buy companion gear in guild stores or wait till it Drops for you.
You can customize the apearance of your companion at an outfitstation or let her wear a costume.

I wish Bethesda would sync up the riding side by side. I got some great screenhots of us standing idle on mounts side by side, but I keep thinking of getting the other companion and us all riding side by side at a gallop through the country side. Oh well, one can dream...
