Got that earlier as well, but it's still letting me log in to play thought.

I got it as well, then it went through and verified all my files. After that I could restart and no issues. Was weird though.

I got that too, the damn game wants me to repair it whenever i open it again, it does the whole process wich takes a loooot of time, then it works one time if i close the launcher it wants to repair again.

Apparently closing the launcher and opening again multiple times might randomly make the game work again.

careful you might get stuck in a repair loop or get into the game fine only to crash and have the error all over again. typical ZOS.

Just happened to me and my wife. Two completely different computers, different hardware, etc. both popped up with the 209 error at the same time.... they must have done something server-side that is borking things up again...
I'm having same issue too - this is frustrating!!!!!

Same problem, seems ESO is going to go down in history as the text book example of how not to update...smh

Been getting this same 209 error for over an hour. Tried repairing and even reinstalling. This is indeed frustrating!!!

ZOS is not only drunk, they may lose customers over this ;P

To fix this error, close the launcher down and log out of steam. Re-log back into steam and start up ESO again. It should work, worked for me after looking on the ESO forum about this.

I'll try this method if reinstalling ESO doesn't work, currently almost halfway done re-installing since when I tried verifying files/cache. It prompted me to reinstall ESO -_-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ6imcVS9f0 I fixed it following this tutorial, only from minute 1:50 I repaired it and that's it, I was able to open the game
