no controller support?
I went in to options-controller, and then tried to bind what button does what, but no matter what I do, the buttons won't bind... so even tho upon loading it shows that it recognizes my controller, it doesn't allow controller support, or am I missing something here?

To activate your controller on PC/Mac, perform the following steps after you have logged into one of your characters. You cannot use a controller before logging into a character.

Navigate to Settings.
Select Gameplay.
Next to Gamepad Mode, select On in the dropdown menu.
To revert back to your PC UI, turn the Gamepad Mode option to Off.

got it, now trying to bind the buttons, by default they're empty, found some of the gamepad controls here https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Controls_(Online) but some of the controls aren't there such as interrupt... any idea of where to find the best button set up that includes things like interrupt, etc?

You may also need to activate controller support within the big picture mode. You can switch to big picture mode from the view section on the left corner. After that you should check controller settings in steam settings. Then, to check if controller settings are activated, go to library-> eso-> manage game and there should be controller configuration and controller options. Check the controller options, it should automatically recognize controller configuration though. And you can interrupt by pushing the attack button while blocking.

I believe Blueyce comment has answer to your question.

Howdy, I just set up my controller.
ESO can play of Xbox One/360 Controllers, but not PS4.
I prefer PS4 so I downloaded a plug in called DS4Windows, a 3rd party plugin that allows you to control the mapping of your controller and tell games that it is an XBOX controller. This gives you the ability to play more games, but note the controls on screen are going to be for XBOX and not Playstation, but button placements are similar. I hope this helps!

I've been using a controller for years now. My biggest problem is lag. There is no controller lag in any other game, but in ESO many times the game doesn't react to my button clicks/trigger pulls as quickly as I do them. Many times I'll try to cast an ability (like clicking B button on controller) and nothing happens. Makes it very difficult to weave attacks and to quickly run through rotations.
