Buying base game + greymoor get discount for new expansion preorder?
Or am I better off just buying the whole $60 thing? Getting all the expansions for that price is very tempting. I don't even love the game that much. I played maybe 20-30 hours of base game+Morrowing on PS4 already though.

If you don't own ESO on PC and are looking to get started there, I'd recommend buying the "The Elder Scrolls Online - Greymoor Digital Collector's Edition" version of the game for $23.09 USD (or the non-Collector's Edition if you don't care about that stuff and want to save a few dollars). This includes the base game, Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, and Greymoor expansions all for a low price on sale (and all those expansions' collector's items if you get that edition). Simply adding Blackwood to the mix increases the price drastically up to $60 just for that one expansion.

In my opinion, there isn't much reason to get the expensive latest expansion if you're just getting into the game, or a new account started on a different platform. If you've previously only played up to Morrowind content, then you'd still have Summerset, Elsweyr, and Greymoor content to keep you busy until Blackwood eventually goes on sale.

Oh wow you saved my ass! Had no idea that option was available. Thank you!

Happy to help! It's unfortunately not very clear on the ESO Steam store page, and you have to go to the Greymoor page to buy the version I mentioned.

Just make sure you don't get the version that says "upgrade" because that's only for buying one expansion (the latest released one - in this case, Greymoor), and doesn't include any of the other expansions.

However, once you do get "The Elder Scrolls Online - Greymoor Digital Collector's Edition", and you're finally ready to get Blackwood in the future, you would then purchase the "Blackwood Upgrade". Because at that point, you would only need that one expansion and not the older ones again, which you would already have with the first purchase. So keep that in mind.

That stuff doesn’t really interest me at the moment. I was to run around these worlds!

Your purchase could not be completed because it looks like you already own one of the games you are trying to buy. Please check your account and your cart to verify you are buying an item you do not already own.

thats what i get when i try to buy what you guys said to buy.

You cant get the Collector's Edition if you already bought the base game, so your only option is the "Greymoor Upgrade".

Or, you can refund the base game and buy the Greymoor Collector's Edition

Yes, "The Elder Scrolls Online - Greymoor" includes the base game and all expansions up to Greymoor. You would get that version and not the one that says "Greymoor Upgrade" because the upgrade one only includes Greymoor and nothing else.

You would only later purchase "Blackwood Upgrade" because that's the only expansion you would be missing after the full "The Elder Scrolls Online - Greymoor" purchase.

from your experience, when a new chapter is released will there be a sale for the new chapter or only for the old ones?

also do you think it will be mandatory to have blackwood? i remember when summerset was released it had all the best sets and best skills and new crafting line! will blackwood be like that too? all i heard about it so far is that they add companions... i cant imagine though how that will be op since the AI in this game is pretty basic.

I don't think they have sales for anything once the latest expansion actually releases. That's basically what these current types of sales are: to catch you up on any content you're missing before the latest expansion fully releases. It's generally more smaller, indie games that tend to do a little sale when the game releases to Steam/Humble/GOG/etc. It'll probably take a bunch of months (after its release) before Blackwood finally starts to go on sale.

As for your other question, I'm probably not the type of player to give you the answers you want, unfortunately. I don't really think of anything as "mandatory" or care about buffs/nerfs or min/maxing as much as other people do. I simply enjoy the game in whatever state its in, whenever I'm in the mood to play it.
