Help with Litany of Blood quest (Dark Brotherhood).
How do you find the targets? They better not think that giving some cryptic message in a book is enough. I mean there's no quest markers or anything. They told me to assassinate people from this book but my quest journal doesn't even show the quest.

it's supposed to be a find on your own kind of quest...but

Of course the cryptic verses won't help you find anyone, and no, it doesn't show up in the quest log cuz is not a formal quest. There are few "quests" like that in ESO (some IIRC do show in the quest log), where you have to find certain objects or people in any order and either bring the objects at your leisure to its corresponding museum or kill a specific target in the case of the Dark Brotherhood. Such objects or people are always found at their designated location and the total list never varies w time. The location may be at the DLC zone of the "quest" and/or the whole base game map (normally at both).

For Litany of Blood, you normally do what most of us do for such kind of "quest": leech the locations from a YT vid and get to do the hard part: kill the target in public w/o detection. Of course it still counts if you get caught, but its not fun to wait for a bounty to burn out if you have not maxed the right perks at DB (you can still outrun authorities w low difficulty cuz it's mostly at open spaces). Afaik, it only counts if you do the kill w the Blade of Keanu Reeves (Whoa).

You can keep track of the kills via the achievement for that "quest", which even tells you in which zone it is, IIRC (I'm not ingame while writing this). Afaik, it can be done w/o posses the DLC zone as long as you did the quest to receive the book and take it (via ESO+).

The targets can be confirmed to be correct by looking into their eyes as the book says. They have 1 white eye, like missing an eye and simply have a crystal eye in the socket. I remember 1 of them is in the city of Elden Root, in the zone of Grathwood, somewhere not far from the stable and the sewer entrance. No, those characters won't be perma-killed from your character view, so expect them to reappear within minutes (which doesn't affect the "quest" at all).

Hope this helps.

Thx for the info. Ive been using the wiki for the quest and just going down the list of targets. So far Im on number 6 but Ive been getting caught alot. Why is that such a bad thing? Seemed to me that the guards kill you once and then youre fine.

It's not that you are good after the guards kill you, It's that maybe the bounty burned out after you left society for a while to adventure and decided to return. If you have a bounty and get killed, the bounty stills up until it's burned or paid. I forgot--or never learned--if having enough money to pay it w you when killed does pay the bounty or they just steal the money from you for fun and still let you stuck w the bounty or a portion of it (Police/bank corruption at it's finest).

It's bad to get killed or pay the bounty to the guards instead of a fence cuz the guards can confiscate any and all stolen items you carry either at inventory or by wearing them (there are achievements for that, its a thing). All you can do w stolen items is, whenever applies: deconstruct, sell (to a fence only), destroy (jettison cuz you can't handle at that moment), wear, improve to wear. IDK if stolen raw mats can be refined, but raw food won't be available to cook, at least until you deplete all other sources (if you are allowed to cook stolen raw food at all). Deconstructed items do generate legit mats which you can use or sell anywhere (speaking of money laundering XD).

i just completed it and I got barely anything for it! Wtf? If this is how the dark brotherhood quest line goes then Im gonna be big time disappointed. They mentioned another book but THERES NO QUEST INDICATORS!!

So frustrating. So is the quest line over? I spent a couple hours killing all the targets and I dont even get any xp wtf.

The Litany of Blood is an achievement quest. Go in to your collection screen and go down to polymorphs, you should have the Cadaverous Assassin polymorph unlocked which turns you in to a skeleton draped in bloodied Dark Brotherhood robes.

Well thats pretty cool. But what about the rest of the quest line? There is more right?

I mean right now the only quests I can do is the one repeatable quest

EDIT ok now im getting other quests. I guess its related to your rank?

I was very luckily to find a group grinding the quest; I just wish it was alot easier with a marker above head (but loved keeping an eye out for people with one eye).

Yes, it is. Same for the Thieves Guild. It may not seem so for the first two or three quests but ranks progress fast in the beginning.
