Gold Temper drops from Daily Writs/Hirelings

How do you maximize this? Someone told me I need to learn all Traits, another guy is saying I only need to get my profession top passives to 10.

You need to get the top passive to 10, and the hireling to 3. This makes writ rewards gold and hireling messages to have a chance at gold mats. It also makes requirements for writs top Rubicite/do/etc.

in my case jewelry crafting - maxed (refining too). multiple characters - survey maps (they give materials for character crafting level) -multiple maps/mats refining with my maxed crafter on stacks around 200 dust (20 ingots) - 1 or 2 gold dust per map. around one per week/character: drops from daily writs and hireling mails.
