too many glowing things

Anyone else ever find themselves going through a city and thinking, "the hell is up with all of these ridiculous neon/glowing skins/pets/mounts?"

It's kind of a good thing in a way, I have no desire to buy any of the crown crates because everything is just bright colors and glowing nonsense. Event mounts/pets? Same thing. Hell, the only thing i spend my crowns on are normal looking outfits.

Now I see the next chapter pre-order/collector's edition, and sure enough, it's more glowing ♥♥♥♥.

Anyone else get tired of everything looking like this?

who knows, maybe I'm just getting boring in my old age :)

Well, Idk if you could shut off the visuals for what other players use, but yeah... the game is full of a whole bunch of flashy stuff. You could always fiddle with Settings in the *viewing other players* section to reduce what you see other players are doing to not have all the flashy things flying everywhere anymore. Idk how limited the Settings are there, but doesn't hurt to check right?

Ok, I love it.

I'm not particularly flashy myself (except one char) but I love the imagination and the variety of stuff that you see around you in this game. I still haven't grown out of it years later. I still even laugh when I can't get at the bank counter because a flippin bear is standing on it. Admittedly the bear doesn't flash, but still.

Yeah, I'm the same too... I'm never interested in anything Crown Store wise due to the fact that almost everything in there is not appealing to me at all... and so, I have lots of crowns accumulated (due to ESO+) and nothing to spend them at all.

Its not that its really full of it its more that zos got on the particle mounts bandwagon, started around when all the wow refugees came in...

There is indeed settings in some games to help reduce the "bling" from all sources. I just don't know w/o reference or looking at settings if and what. Besides, the excess of glow (and waterfalls) in this game obeys to the fact that is stuff that everyone loves. Not everyone would like to see something so repetitively/often, which is understandable, but these 2 things really appeal to an outstanding majority.

See also that the game portrays a gloomy, depressive environment due to the conflicts among mortals and the strong influences of Daedra and similar supernatural evildoers. The lights provide a contrast--and some much needed lighting--and a proper appearance for magical world. Example of all I said in a single shot: the heal-fests near wayshrines at some major cities, particularly Craglorn, as well as in the areas where you take pledges. Waterfalls bring a calm environment in a chaotic world, and goes well w the fact that is not in a contemporary world and even less futuristic. It's pretty much between medieval and renaissance.

All in all, if you are not epileptic, it's one problem less for you :D.

i dont like them and it seems there all the same lookin for me and they just dont look they belong to nirn at all or any of the deadra places at all but what i hate more about there glowing? is that "explosion" they make if they spawn in like not only is it loud its anoying on every level you can think of

i have a black horse mount with some glowing blue lines, but holy, the spawn sound is awful. i agree.

Now i just use a plain Guar lol. The base horse mounts looks terrible and the crown store stuff is just way too over the top.

Still... is not that I don't buy anything... I buy stuff, it's just rare... I normally buy costumes and/or appearance stuff, like hairs/tatoos, etc... if I like them.

Also, I bought some mounts in the past: for example, the black panther and some others I don't remember now, and also some pets, like the black kitty... they just have to be "normal" :D

I also bought change alliance tokens for two of my characters that were in the wrong alliances, so I could take them to PvP finally!

Have you seen other MMO's? Geez, ESO is pretty dull compared to other MMO's with flashy stuff. Look at Korean MMO's, it's stupid. Ever played GW2? Insane there too.

I know what you saying (besides dismissing me proper XD). It's what I tell everyone: mind your use of currency, being real or virtual. BTW, what you call normal in ESO is just discreetly cool. I'm very selective when comes to any taste, and I find there is enough good stuff to pimp the character well for most "medieval" fantasies w/o go flashy. I would post some screenshots but I have problems w Steam disallowing it for many months now.

Anyways, a good BD gift in advance won't hurt anyone :D. I'm talking to ZoS, BTW. They owe me big time for some previous wrongs.

I most definitely have and that's why I enjoy ESO so much. I can be out in the wilderness and it feels like I'm in an Elder Scrolls game. Then I go into town and see 30 glowing pets, these ridiculous looking fire and ice skins that look like they belong in WoW and daedra floating around constantly while guards just chill.

It's not game breaking obviously, I still love the game, but man, sometimes I just shake my head.

I bought the necromancer class and some bag slots. They don't seem to glow much even if I shake them up.
Seriously I know what you mean. Traveling through collection points it's like bonfire night. Thankfully it's seems to be confined to those areas and it's not a problem out in the world.

I think they have to have the sparkly stuff in MMO's for the kids, they love it. It would be nice to have a option to turn it off though because it does take you out of the immersion.
