There's a big overhaul to the champion point system coming next week. And unfortunately with this change there will be a reset on your skill points. It's not that big a deal, I'd recommend you take a screenshot of your current set up if you think you'll need it to remember your setup. You're not gonna loose anything on this, they're even giving out a free pet for us to claim in the crown store as an apology for the inconvenience.

I don't know if the screenshot will help that much. Last time I checked the new system had a lot of changes in the cp tree / cp skills or whatever you wanna call it. You'll have a time period to respec for free tho, so don't worry about it.

The screenshot is more for the actual skill bar you use during combat.

The rework is something that's been in the works for a long time, it's going to balance the system more and give more defined playstyles for people. But it's very largely a preformance update. See currently, when you use an ability, the system has to go through all of your selected CP talents and checkmark what effects to be applied to your every action. This happens constantly with every player and it's a big strain on the system to have to work through it with every action being done. So with the new system setup of having to select which talents you activate at a given time it'll greatly lessen the impact on the system, in theory this will increase preformance quite a bit.

Now we'll have to wait and see how noticable it will be for us as players, but it is for sure gonna lessen the strain being put on the servers and it should help stablize areas heavy with combat such as PvP zones and, as seen right now, event focused WB fights.

Should show up in the crownstore next week. It's a little fawn pet. There's an article about this whole thing in the launcher if you want to look into the details more.

They don't patch on weekends unless it's an emergency thing. So count on it being monday or tuesday. I think the article states monday 8th.

WOW!! I really should read the announcements more often!! I really like this:

"To celebrate the arrival of Update 29’s Champion System overhaul, we’re happy to announce the Heroes Reforged mini event. Beginning with the launch of Update 29 for each platform (PC/Mac: Monday, March 8 at 10AM EST; Xbox One and PlayStation®4: Tuesday, March 16 at 10AM), this event will run for two weeks and allow you unlimited free respecs from Rededication Shrines for the following:

Attributes (Health/Stamina/Magicka)
Skills (and Morphs)
Champion Points (from the Champion Point system menu)"

I do have a question though. I am ranking my Blacksmithing ability to level 50 as I want to use my DaggerFall motif to generate a new style to wear (cosmetic only). I need level 50 and 10 skyshards in using metals to do this. Once I have achieved this in the next few days or so (Level 43 blacksmithing right now), if I respec my skills reclaiming the blacksmithing ponts and use them elsewhere will I loose my Daggerfall motif to make a custom style?

You shouldn't loose a motif once you've got it claimed. So you should only loose the ability to craft at those higher levels if you respec.

Thank you!! Off to get to that level 50 blacksmithing!

When you learn a motif, you learn the ability to craft it as well as an outfit version.
The outfit version is account bound and all your characters can use it once unlocked.
