Perfect Roe
I have spent the entire day working on my Master Angler Achievement. I have 1100 fillets after skinning the fish, not a single roe. What is the drop rate for people these days?

I have heard .08% (maybe it was .8%) is the norm now according to zone chat. Am I really just this unlucky here?

Am I doing it wrong? I just spam E on the stack of whatever white fish, occasionally leaving the menu to see what I got so far. Is there a method to this madness? Should I perhaps not shave the beard or wash the socks and get superstitious? Send help.

It's ok, we all have been there. You are doing exactly what is meant to be done to get Perfect Roe. It's just RNG. On a separate note, I heard the drop rate of Perfect Roe is 1% or 1 in 100 fish, but my info is old and I didn't check for new info beyond UESP.net. I barely fish, so I can't complaint that I barely got 2 in the last 6 years (of which I played proper since a month after the worldwide lockdown started, so 1 year & 2 months). Keep the faith and good luck. At least you are doing the grind while many of us just look at it like "nah". Be proud.

P.S: Use Votan's Fish Fillet to automate the filleting task. Is a time and hassle saver.

btw, fishing with others and the arteaum drink/food will only increase the "chance" of droppin' a trophy fish - nothing to do with roe.
Correct.

From what I have read, the drop rate for perfect roe, on a cleaned fish, goes up with each person fishing on the spot with you. So my idea is that you must be fishing with someone, maybe 2 more people, to increase your chances of getting fish with perfect roe inside.

Its like the loot in the loot bag is already rolled for, you just have to open it.
As Anar Kay already said, this is not correct. You can see this by the fact that there is only one stack of fish of each type in the crafting bag. In ESO, items can only stack if they are absolutely identical, they _must_ all have the same ID and they _cannot_ have any item information that's specific to the individual item.

If the loot were already rolled for, then you would see a different stack in your loot bag (or inventory) for each possible roll.

Thanks all for the answers. Was a little distressed last night trying to figure it out. Hopefully today will bring better results.

I could just buy one sure, but Guild Traders only get them one way. And that is from people who enjoy no life fishing from time to time, so we can supply those goods.

Cheers!
